Pyotr Kurzin Pyotr Kurzin , host of The Global Gambit podcast, published an interesting interview with Peter Zeihan Peter Zeihan about Russia's war against Ukraine. I found it quite compelling, so I decided to share its main points: ▪️ "[Putin] has another seven million people he can mobilize if he wants to. Granted, that is the last generation of Russian men under 30. That obviously comes at a huge cost. But the Russians really have not put their shoulder into this war yet. They have tried to treat it as what they've said - a special military operation. We have not seen the full economy mobilized. We have not seen the industrial plants receive the investment necessary for a mass expansion. And we certainly haven't seen the population mobilized in a way past wars involving either the Soviets or the Russians have. We are starting to see that now. It is not risk-free. There's no guarantee they win this anymore. But to think there's going to be a political break in Russia without a significantly greater economic dislocation than we have seen so far is being over-optimistic." ▪️ "For the first time, we're actually seeing the Russians on a military economic footing. While that is, from the capitalistic point of view, wildly inefficient, that doesn't mean it can't work. It means that for the first time in 5 years, the Russians are actually fighting like this is a real war as opposed to something that's a sideshow. That does have consequences. It means we have to have, among other things, a full mobilization. But to say that that's going to break the system, I don't know if I buy that. It just puts stresses in different places." ▪️ "We have to have a much sharper break. And that means the apathy has to end. The best example I can give you is when Prigozhin led his rebellion. He marched his people 1,500 kilometers to Moscow. No regular military commanders joined him, and no regular military commanders tried to stop him. That really underlined just the huge degree of apathy in Russia, even among the security services, about what was going on. While that means it's really difficult for Putin to motivate people, it also means it's very difficult for Putin to be motivated against. Until we have a situation where we don't just have defectors on the front, but actually people shooting their commanders, I don't see Putin in significant domestic danger." ▪️ "Five years on, and Ukrainians are not simply still fighting, but they found new ways to give the Russians a bloody nose and actually change the mechanics on the ground. With the new military technology we've seen this year, that eight-to-one ratio is being achieved regularly. For the first time in this conflict, we are finally at an even fight. That doesn't mean the Ukrainians are going to win, but for the first time, they're not losing ground. And that matters immensely." ▪️ "The Ukrainians are trying to change the math of the war in a very intelligent way. The [drone] technology is innovative. Since the Ukrainians are launching hundreds of these a day, we're in a situation where the entire Russian system is running out of anti-aircraft capability. It changes the math because now the Russians have to defend every square inch and absolutely cannot. Putin has redirected air defenses to concentrate around a few specific areas, most notably Crimea and Moscow, and everything else is kind of open. What we've seen in just the last couple of weeks is that the mid-range strikes that the Ukrainians have been doing since March, basically destroying the logistical tail of the military forces within about 300 or 400 kilometers of the front, have had such an impact that the Ukrainians are actually able to go on the offensive in zones that are mined and win. For the first time, the Russians just can't get more drones, more men, more fuel, more food within the battle zone at all. And that's now affected their ability to hold the line." ▪️ "The amount of economic damage that the Ukrainians cause is really deeply immense. We've had over 140 attacks now on 'shadow fleet' tankers in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea in just the last six weeks. We are looking at the end of Russia's ability to export through the Baltic or the Black Sea. Conservatively, that's three to four million barrels a day of oil and product. They'll still be able to use, for now, their Siberian export route, but collectively, rail and pipe there is less than a third of what goes west. Long-term impact. This is the end of Russia as a significant energy exporter. Once this physical infrastructure is destroyed, the wells will be shut in, and most of them are mature wells that require foreign technology for their development. The Russians will have to re-drill them, and they can't re-drill them until such time as the sanctions are gone. The Chinese don't have the technology." ▪️ "Strategically, there is no version of an independent Ukraine that can function unless Crimea is part of Ukraine, or at least neutral, because it commands the access to the rivers that are the lifeblood of the Ukrainian economy for their exports of steel and especially grains. And if the Russians control Crimea, they basically control the north half of the Black Sea and can project power west and south very easily. But that assumes that they can resupply Crimea successfully, which is no longer for sure. With the mid-range drone strikes, it basically turned Crimea into an island that the Russians can't support, which means it turns from a springboard into a sandbag. The Ukrainians don't need to make a push in order to drain the Russians. They're just forcing the Russians to use all of their logistical capacity to try to reach someplace that they really can't defend anymore. It's a good strategy." ▪️ "For the Ukrainians to win, they don't just need to get Crimea back. They need to make sure that the Russians lose the military capacity to threaten them. And that means neutralizing or occupying the two Russian cities that are the logistic hubs that enable the war - Belgorod and Rostov-on-Don. We're nowhere close to that right now. But if those two cities are removed from the equation, it's not just that Russia loses the ability to project power west; it loses the ability to project power into the Caucasus. And then you're talking about the entire southern rim of the Russian state falling. And all of those barriers are then completely up in the air, and the Russians are too far from all of them and can't defend any of their territory. And whatever vector a future threat comes in from, the Russians just can't deal with it at all." ▪️ "At this moment, it's a question of whether or not and how soon the Russians can copy what the Ukrainians are doing with drones against two other developments. Number one, the Russians are finally putting huge investments into their ballistic missile capabilities because that's a technology that the Ukrainians have no defense for. The first large numbers of those missiles will probably come online in about six months. That's about the same time that these joint facilities that the Ukrainians are building with the European NATO allies and a number of countries in the Persian Gulf will also come online. So, we're going to have many more Ukrainian memory drones at the same time we have many more Russian ballistic missiles. This war is changing month by month."

🚨 BREAKING: Italian radar scientist detected what appears to be a massive grid of eight cylindrical structures, each 20 meters in diameter, descending over a kilometer beneath the Giza pyramids using Synthetic Aperture Radar Doppler Tomography. The cylindrical columns have coils wrapping around them resulting in a megastructure that looks like an ancient energy grid 🚨 So I brought in Geoffrey Drumm, one of the most technically rigorous pyramid researchers alive, to stress test every claim in real time. What followed was a four hour technical interrogation that revealed both stunning validations and unresolved questions about what may be the most significant archaeological discovery of the century. Biondi holds a PhD in radar science, 30 years in the field, and invented a proprietary method called the Biondi Protocol that reads surface micro-vibrations detected by Italian COSMO-SkyMed satellites to reconstruct what lies inside and beneath solid structures. His first peer-reviewed paper scanned the Great Pyramid in 2020. His second project scanned the Khafre Pyramid and the wider Giza Plateau, producing the 3D model that broke the internet: eight tubular columns with coils wrapping around them, sitting on a foundation of enormous cube-shaped structures, extending beneath all three pyramids and the Sphinx. Drumm is the author of The Land of Chem YouTube channel, lives in Egypt, and has developed a comprehensive hypothesis that the pyramids functioned as industrial-scale chemical reactors powered by lightning during the Saharan Humid Period. He knows the Giza Plateau like the back of his hand and has previously stress tested and poked holes in Biondi’s findings. This conversation is an unfiltered exchange between two heavyweights: 1. Biondi's Best Scan Is Jaw-Dropping As validation, Biondi presented a proof-of-concept scan of Italy's Gran Sasso National Laboratory, buried 1.4 kilometers inside a mountain. The image is stunning. You can see the tunnel cutting through the mountain, the interior of the facility, and even the interferometer inside it using the same technique Biondi used to scan beneath the pyramids. Drumm called it the single most convincing piece of evidence that this technology works. The Gotthard Tunnel in Switzerland produced a similarly clear image at two kilometers depth through solid rock. These are not theoretical demonstrations. They are working scans of known structures at extreme depth, and they validate that the Biondi Protocol can see through kilometers of stone. 2. He Found a Hidden Corridor Before Anyone Else In his 2020 paper, Biondi identified a feature on the northern face of the Great Pyramid labeled Tag 17. A dead-end corridor behind the chevron stones that nobody knew existed. Years later, the ScanPyramids muon team confirmed it and drilled in with a microscopic camera. Biondi's measurements of the corridor's length and the positions of its floor and ceiling matched what was found. This is a confirmed prediction from satellite radar, made years before physical verification. 3. He Detected a Sealed Shaft Beneath the Queen's Chamber One of the most compelling findings from the 2020 paper is a shaft and chamber system descending from the bottom of the Queen's Chamber. This structure was actually reported in 19th century excavation documents. Explorers found a pit in the Queen's Chamber floor, excavated down, and discovered a tunnel system below it. The Egyptian authorities then permanently sealed it with modern blocks. Biondi's scans picked it up independently, with no prior knowledge of those historical records. Drumm, who had already proposed this exact extraction shaft in his own chemical reactor model, called this the most promising result in the entire dataset. 4. The Substructures Are Enormous The tubular columns beneath the Khafre Pyramid measure approximately 20 meters in diameter each, spaced about 5 meters apart. That is 65 feet across per column. Eight of them. For context, the Queen's Chamber sometimes fails to register in certain scan slices because it is too small relative to the tomographic line. Biondi's argument is that megastructures at this scale are exactly what the technology is built to detect. Small chambers can be missed depending on the angle of the satellite pass. Repeating cylindrical structures 20 meters wide, appearing consistently across multiple scan geometries and multiple satellite sensors, are a different category of detection entirely. 5. Drumm's Challenge: The Processing Gap Here is where the debate gets sharp. The Gran Sasso and Gotthard scans used an advanced processing technique that averages noise across adjacent tomographic slices, requiring months of computation on borrowed hardware. The pyramid scans used a faster but noisier method on Biondi's own limited computers. Drumm pointed out that the quality difference is massive. The proof-of-concept images are transparent like a crystal. The pyramid images require expert interpretation to read. Biondi's response: he needs an array of GPUs he cannot afford. With that hardware, he says he could produce Gran Sasso-quality scans of the Giza substructures in near real-time. Estimated cost: millions. This is the bottleneck standing between a controversial claim and a potentially world-changing confirmation. 6. Other issues: Known Chambers Sometimes Do Not Appear Drumm walked through the 2020 dataset scan by scan. The Queen's Chamber shows a strong, consistent signature and serves as a reliable benchmark. But in several tomographic slices, the King's Chamber does not appear. The Grand Gallery does not appear. The subterranean chamber does not appear. Biondi attributes this to single-slice geometry. Each scan captures one vertical curtain through the structure in 15 seconds. If that curtain does not intersect a chamber precisely, it will not register. He says the real-time GPU system would allow him to sweep through hundreds of adjacent slices and reconstruct a full 3D volume. That system does not yet exist. 7. Biondi Challenged the Muon Team's Interpretation The ScanPyramids muon team claims the Big Void inside the Great Pyramid runs north to south, parallel to and above the Grand Gallery. Biondi's scans show it running east to west, connected to structures wrapping around the King's Chamber. Looking at the muon data during the conversation, Biondi argued they may have confused the floor and roof of the Grand Gallery for two separate features. The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities is using the muon team's interpretation to justify drilling into the Great Pyramid in 2026. If Biondi is right about the orientation, that excavation could validate SAR Doppler tomography over the established method in one stroke. 8. The Signal Fades at 600 Meters and Nobody Knows Why The model shows structures extending over a kilometer deep. But in the raw data, the signal tapers around 600 meters. Drumm pressed Biondi on this. The initial explanation was the water table, but both agreed the actual water table sits only about 50 meters below the plateau. When pushed further, Biondi said he cannot yet explain the change but hinted at something he is not authorized to disclose. The structures do continue in the model below that line, detected across multiple satellite sensors showing the same cutoff pattern. What changes at 600 meters remains an open question. 9. Drumm's Model Says the Substructures Could Make Functional Sense Drumm's hypothesis is that each pyramid produced a specific chemical in sequence, from methane extraction at the Step Pyramid to ammonia synthesis in the Red Pyramid to sulfuric acid production in the Great Pyramid. He places the operational period during the Saharan Humid Period, roughly 8500 to 5300 BC, when massive thunderstorms provided the electrical input. The Big Void sits exactly where a heat exchanger would need to be to manage exothermic reactions in the Grand Gallery. The sealed shaft beneath the Queen's Chamber aligns with his proposed product extraction system. He confirmed that he has already integrated Biondi's substructure findings into a working functional model. If the deep structures are real, they connect to known hydrothermal mineral deposits, iron ore veins, and rare earth elements embedded in the Giza bedrock. Drumm and Biondi both agree: whoever built these structures chose the Giza Plateau for a very specific reason tied to what lies beneath it. 10. Validation & What Comes Next Biondi wants to establish a foundation in Malta with a dedicated data center and GPU array to reprocess the Giza data using his superior technique. Drumm wants to go to the Giza Plateau with Biondi's team to physically investigate anomalies he has already identified near the Osiris Shaft and along the Khafre causeway. Both say the SAR method and the muon method should be combined rather than treated as competitors. Both state that the conventional dating and tomb explanation for the pyramids is wrong. And both Drumm and Biondi agree that what lies beneath the Giza Plateau is more important than what sits on top of it. They also agree on the need for further validation and stress-testing. Why This Matters A satellite technique that can see through 1.4 kilometers of mountain and accurately image the Gran Sasso Laboratory. A confirmed prediction of a hidden corridor inside the Great Pyramid years before physical verification. A detection of a sealed shaft that matches 19th century excavation records. And now, scans showing a repeating grid of massive cylindrical structures beneath the entire Giza Plateau that no conventional archaeological framework can account for. The technology has demonstrated real capability. The substructure claims remain extraordinary. The 2026 Big Void excavation and GPU-powered rescans could settle this within months. If even a fraction of what Biondi is detecting turns out to be real, we are looking at the largest undiscovered structure on Earth, hidden in plain sight beneath the most studied archaeological site in human history. Ch. 14 of NITRO: The Inside Story of Hulk Hogan's heel turn - #OTD 30 Years Ago (7/7/96)! AS DAY BECAME NIGHT at the Sullivan home, Bollea deliberated his participation in the pay-per-view. “Everybody was telling him that it was the wrong thing to do,” Kevin Sullivan says. “He was getting booed out of the arena, but they were all saying, ‘this is gonna kill him’.” With no end to the discussion in sight, the wily booker casually suggested that Bollea and Young make use of his two guest rooms until the morning. “I isolated [them],” Sullivan admits. “I was just afraid that at the last minute, he was going to use his creative control [clause] and pull out.” If Sullivan could deliver Bollea to the arena by showtime, the finish of the match called for Hogan to star in the most dramatic of surprise endings. In a sequence devised by Kevin Nash, an unannounced Hulkster would shockingly interfere in the match, but only after the heels gained an unfair advantage through cheating. It would be a brilliant misdirection, Nash thought, as fans would instinctively believe Hogan’s appearance to be in support of the babyface team. “I knew there were gonna be 55 different ideas,” Nash says, thinking back to the eve of the event, “[so] I actually put a lot of thought into it. I called Scott [Hall] two or three days before that, and said ‘what do you think about this?’ “We had to make it a 2-on-2 match with Lex Luger getting injured [during the match] and going out. We would cheat to get Macho [Man] in trouble and all of a sudden Hulk comes down, which of course would mean ‘ok, here comes Hulk to make the save’. [Hall] said, ‘I love it’.” There was, however, the looming possibility that Bollea could reject his turn at the eleventh hour. Thinking ahead, Eric Bischoff developed a contingency plan in which Sting would play the role, ultimately revealing himself - despite not having prior experience with the WWF - as the ‘third man’ instead. “I remember Eric came in to the locker room,” recalls Marcus 'Buff' Bagwell, “and said [to Sting], ‘I wanna talk to you about something’. I could hear them going over the idea, and then when they got done, Sting told me what they were talking about. He said that [Eric said], ‘there are only two guys that could turn heel where it would really matter’. That would be Hogan and Sting.” “He was offering Sting the job first, [as I recall], and Sting didn’t wanna do it. He didn’t really say it wouldn’t work, but he just said, ‘it doesn’t intrigue me. I don’t wanna do it’.” According to Andre Freitas, a special effects artist who worked in costume design and character development for WCW, the proposed Sting swerve was to involve the use of a doppelganger - or ‘phony’ Sting - presumably in an effort to fool fans that the real character had switched sides. “That was their original plan,” says Freitas. “Eric showed me a picture of Jeff Farmer (a lower-card wrestler) and said ‘can you make him Sting?’ I told him that they have similar bodies...then we looked at Sting’s hair and Jeff’s hair...and talked about all that stuff. I did a head cast for [Farmer] and some prosthetic and test make-ups. But when they secured Hogan, we didn’t do [the angle].” ----------- Amazingly, even as Bash at the Beach began, Bischoff continued to consider Plan B. “I remember walking by this perforated wall in the Ocean Center,” divulges Nash, “and Eric said to me, ‘Hulk is with Sullivan, and he’s not sure he’s gonna do it yet’. It was up in the air.” Meanwhile, viewers of the pay-per-view - and, for that matter, WCW’s own production staff - speculated as to the identity of the third man. “They were trying to ‘work’ everyone,” asserts Jason Douglas, a WCW producer backstage at his first pay-per-view event. “‘Rocket’ (staff member Rick Sancher) came up to me - they were kinda testing me because I was new on the road - and said ‘hey, I think it’s gonna be [WWF wrestler] Bret Hart’. I guess it was to see if I would leak something, and so I was just like ‘oh, cool, Bret Hart’.” In reality, aside from Bischoff, Bollea, Young, Hall, Nash and Sullivan, the turn would be concealed from everyone - even the announcers, according to orders from Bischoff - as to ensure their most realistic reactions. With less than an hour before the main event began, production staffer Woody Kearce discovered a revealing clue in the parking lot. A Hulk Hogan motorcycle had appeared mysteriously in one of the spaces, sparking another round of backstage conjecture. Finally, with what Sullivan recalls as “thirty minutes” and Bischoff remembers as “forty-five to sixty minutes” left on the air, Bollea belatedly arrived at the Ocean Center. The mood suddenly changed. Upon realizing that his star had been convinced, Bischoff began to relax. “Once he got to the building, I recall a sense of calm,” he reveals. “All of the anxiety, all of the tension, all of the worry, all of the effort to make sure things stayed quiet...all of that just kind of dissipated. It was like fog lifting when the sun comes out - it all just went away. I was thinking, ‘it is what it is, there’s nothing more I can do...so let’s just roll with it’.” To cement the turn, Bollea knew, he would have to deliver a monumental post-match promo to explain his actions. While typically, he enjoyed using Bischoff as a sounding board to rehearse interviews, the need for complete privacy - on this occasion - was unquestionably paramount. And so, away from prying eyes - and ears - the two met up in the most unglamorous of clandestine locations - a utility closet. In the midst of the run-through, Bischoff stopped to emphasize an important point: When you grab that microphone, I want you to say...‘this is the beginning of the new...world...order’. The phrase - ‘new world order’ - lingered auspiciously in the air. Bischoff surprised himself with the utterance, realizing slowly that the term encapsulated everything that the invasion storyline could represent. In 1990, then-president George H.W. Bush famously utilized the same expression in a speech to Congress, although its origin could actually be traced back to the 28th President, Woodrow Wilson. But if Bischoff was unsure as to the source of his spontaneous inspiration, perhaps the answer could be found closer to home - on the preceding Nitro, just six days earlier, announcer Larry Zybysko serendipitously made the following proclamation: “This Sunday, I promise you, there will be a new world order of wrestling…” Fans at the Ocean Center waited anxiously to see if Zybysko’s prophecy would materialize; for after all the hoopla, it was suddenly time for the main event. Before the opening bell, the audience was already on its feet for ring announcer@Michael_Buffer’s pre-match introductions. As Hall and Nash sauntered to the ring for The Hostile Takeover match, Buffer set the scene with theatrical aplomb: “Ladies and gentleman, at this time, let me introduce the men whose plan and goal is to takeover the WCW with force and hostility. We were told there would be three of these interlopers, and I must apologize as I have been informed - as you can see - there are only two. Ladies and gentleman, introducing...the Outsiiiiiders!” In a moment that played off perfectly on television, Sting’s entrance music began - and quickly ended - as ‘Mean Gene’ Okerlund traipsed cautiously into the ring. After exchanging quizzical looks with Buffer and referee Randy Anderson, Okerlund confronted the Outsiders to get some answers, an inspired plot device designed to build the tension even further. “Gentleman,” began Okerlund, “if I could have your attention...I don’t have police protection with me at this time, but I wanna confront you in front of this full house here at the Ocean Center, and millions of others watching across the country and around the world. I don’t see three men here tonight. Where is your partner?” Responding in a manner consistent with their WWF characters, Hall and Nash assured Okerlund that the third man was present - and ready. “Let me tell you something,” announced a confident Nash, “we got enough to handle it right now, right here.” Once more, Sting’s entrance music blared from the arena speakers, this time preceding the man himself, accompanied by Luger and Savage. “Here we go!” screamed color commentator Bobby Heenan as the wrestlers passed an unusually large contingent of security personnel on the entrance way. “The war is on!” Less than two minutes into the bout, Luger collapsed to the outside, a move in accordance with Nash’s plan to even the sides before the climactic reveal. “Now it’s two against two!” yelled Heenan. After a brief delay, the concerned crowd looked on as Luger left the arena on a stretcher, leaving Sting and Savage alone to fight valiantly for WCW. As the match progressed, the contemptible Outsiders used every trick to stall their opponent’s momentum, until a revitalized Savage began a furious rally at the fifteen-and-a-half minute mark. The invaders were suddenly down, but not out - as with the referee distracted, Nash landed a low-blow to bring the Macho Man to his knees. All four men lay on the canvas, exhausted, as referee Anderson started a ten count. As Anderson yelled ‘ONE’, several rows of spectators rose to their feet. Within seconds, the reaction diffused from section to section, the noise level increasing with each passing beat. On the live broadcast, viewers at home caught glimpse of a familiar figure making his way down the ramp. “Hulkamania!” screamed Dusty Rhodes on commentary while Hogan walked methodically towards the ring. Noticeably, the Hulkster seemed oddly disaffected - even out-of-character - but after exchanging the briefest of glances with the crowd, he continued stride with the din reaching fever pitch. “Whose side is he on?” bellowed Heenan, a question that seemed inexplicable given the history of Hogan’s on-screen persona. “Whose side is he on?” repeated Heenan, who as longtime fans could recall, had opposed Hogan for years as a manager in the WWF. For that reason, the comment flew over the heads of most (but not all) viewers; meanwhile, the live crowd was cheering as if their team had won the World Series. Nash and Hall retreated to the floor as Hogan tore off his shirt, an apparent signal that the archetypal good guy was here to save the day again. “Who’s bad now boys?” taunted play-by-play man Tony Schiavone on commentary, confident that WCW’s honor was no longer in jeopardy. Savage lay prone on the mat as Hogan surveyed the scene. Above the cheapest of cheap seats, peeking through a curtain with palpable anticipation, was Eric Bischoff. “I knew that something big was about to happen,” he recalls. “It was either gonna be a big failure, or a big success.” Seemingly out of nowhere, with his unsuspecting devotees enveloped in celebration, Hulk backed up to the corner. With the coldness of a serial killer, the once-honorable hero shockingly shoved referee Anderson, and executed his patented finishing move - the leg drop - to the helpless Macho Man below. The audience became completely, utterly unglued. “I was standing back with the announcers,” remembers Michelle Baines, newly hired as a production assistant. “One of the producers turned to me and said, ‘you need to go to the back’. “‘I said, ‘what do you mean?’ “She said, ‘it’s gonna get ugly real quick’.” “She was right - the crowd turned ugly quick.” In retrospect, it was clear that even as Hogan’s body approached the canvas - contact with Savage just milliseconds away - the gravity of the assault started to hit home. “What has he done?” questioned a crestfallen Rhodes, “is he the third man? What the hell is going on here?” Heenan was even more direct - “Hulk Hogan has betrayed WCW! He is the third man in this picture!” A breathless Schiavone could barely muster more than three words: Oh My God, he repeated. Oh My God, he continued, as Hogan high-fived a grinning Hall and Nash. The courageous Sting, stumbling to his feet to stop the injustice, was quickly dispatched, and in the coup de grace, Hogan tossed Anderson to the floor. Sardonically, he covered Savage for the pin, the contest now clearly a farce. “I hope you love it,” a disappointed Rhodes wailed on commentary. “You just sold your soul to the devil.” The third man was a mystery no more, and Hall, Nash, and Hogan raised their hands in victory to a genuinely astonished audience. The immediate outrage, which first gave way to shock, was now inspiring unmitigated rage. Simultaneously, the evil trio continued to taunt, pose, and antagonize while the announcers lamented WCW’s future. As Sting and Savage hobbled back to the locker room, a visibly distraught Okerlund returned to conduct an explanatory interview, based around the one Hogan and Bischoff had mapped out earlier. “Mean Gene,” commanded Hogan, “the first thing you need to do is to tell these people to shut up if you wanna hear what I gotta say.” For the next four minutes, Hogan rationalized his turn with remarkable clarity. “The first thing you gotta realize, brother, is this right here is the future of wrestling. You can call this the new...world...order of wrestling. These two men right here came from a great big organization up north, and everybody was wondering who the third man was. Well, who knows more about that organization than me, brother? I made that organization a monster. I made people rich up there. I made the people that ran that organization rich up there. And when it all came to pass, the name Hulk Hogan, the man Hulk Hogan, got bigger than the whole organization!” Bischoff watched from his secretive seat in amazement - he had not seen, nor had anyone, this intensity of emotion on display at a wrestling show before. It was almost as if the assembled masses had lost themselves in the performance, perhaps even forgetting, if only for a moment, that they were witnesses to a pre-determined event. Hogan’s actions had ostensibly interrupted their critical faculties; in other words, they had suspended their disbelief by reacting to the incident as if it were real. Moreover, the shock was manifesting in the most volatile ways imaginable, as in an incident edited out of future showings of the pay-per-view, a rather large man, likely intoxicated, ran into the ring before being knocked down by Hall and Nash. Concurrently, a stream of debris rained down from the stands, with one object hitting Okerlund, and the rest filling the ring in a stunningly unique visual. Hogan continued as the trash piled up around him, even referencing Ted Turner in his diatribe: “Billionaire Ted promised me movies brother. Billionaire Ted promised me millions of dollars. And Billionaire Ted promised me world caliber matches. And as far as Billionaire Ted, Eric Bischoff, and the entire WCW goes, I’m bored brother! That’s why I want these two guys here, these so-called Outsiders. These are the men I want as my friends. They are the new blood of professional wrestling, and not only are we going to take over the whole wrestling business...with Hulk Hogan, the new blood and the monsters with me, we will destroy everything in our path, Mean Gene.” “Look at all the crap in this ring,” responded Okerlund. “This is what’s in the future for you if you want to hang around the likes of this man Hall, and this man Nash.” Hogan raised his finger as if to stop the interviewer midstream, the perfect line instantly coming to mind. “As far as I’m concerned, all this crap in the ring represents these fans out here,” he boomed defiantly. “For two years, I held my head high,” ranted Hogan, alluding to his rather uninspired WCW tenure. “I did everything for the charities. I did everything for the kids. And the reception I got when I came out here, you fans can stick it brother! Because if it wasn’t for Hulk Hogan, you people wouldn’t be here. If it wasn’t for Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff would still be selling meat from a truck in Minneapolis. And if it wasn’t for Hulk Hogan, all of these ‘Johnny come latelys’ that you see out here wrestling wouldn’t be here. I was selling the world out, brother, while they were bumming gas to put in their car to get to high school!” In closing, Hogan foreshadowed the future state of affairs in WCW with a prophetic preview of coming storylines: “With Hulk Hogan and the new world organization of wrestling, brother...me and the new blood by my side...whatcha gonna do when the new world organization runs wild on you? Whatcha gonna do? What are you gonna do??” Despite mistakenly bungling the ‘new world order’ phrase at the conclusion of his speech, Hogan still provided the perfect punctuation to a sensational heel turn. His promo, inarguably the most dynamic of his career, came across as strikingly authentic (“it felt real, because it was real’,” offered a proud Eric Bischoff upon reflection years later). On commentary, Schiavone - who most inspiredly suggested that Hogan had planned to double-cross WCW all along, since his debut in 1994 no less - added to the realism with some mournful final comments: “We have seen the end of Hulkamania,” he grieved. “Hulk Hogan, you can go to hell! We’re outta here. Straight to hell.” ---- To the layman, there appeared an obvious explanation for the feverous crowd response that accompanied Hogan’s turn. Clearly, the element of surprise - one of the key elements of Nitro’s success - had been exploited to a masterful degree (“nobody on earth thought that the third man was going to be Hulk Hogan,” highlights Nash). To Kevin Sullivan, however, there were several layers of story at play. “People thought that it was an invasion from the WWF,” he begins, implying that the success of the angle could be correlated to its realism. “They really bought into it, and when Hogan turned heel...they were sure of it. “So while Hogan gets the credit for the reaction, it was [Nash and Hall] who set the whole thing up. Those guys built the foundation of heat, and when Hogan came down, it just blew up.” “We were red hot coming off WWF television,” agrees Nash, “and then you had the biggest turn in the world on top of that. The biggest babyface of all-time finally turned heel!” To the ever-meticulous Sullivan, always a keen observer of the nuances present in a wrestling angle, an often overlooked element was also noteworthy. “He did it to Randy [Savage],” the booker emphasizes, speaking of Hogan’s betrayal. “People knew there was real-life heat there. Over the last two and a half years, the two of us, Michael Shellenberger and alex gutentag, have written and published hundreds of articles and testified before Congress on multiple occasions about the clear violations of the spirit and letter of the Constitution by former President Joe Biden and other Democratic leaders. We exposed a sweeping effort by former and current officials with the CIA, FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and its intermediary organizations to construct a Censorship Industrial Complex to censor President Donald Trump and millions of his supporters. We documented that Democrats and Democrat-appointed judges were abusing the justice system in an unconstitutional effort to incarcerate Trump or otherwise prevent him from running for office. And we published extensively on efforts by Democrats, Europeans, and Brazilians to engage in mass surveillance of social media accounts and text messaging apps to search for disfavored speech. In addition, we have repeatedly defended Trump and the Trump administration from false and malicious claims that they have violated the Constitution or undermined democratic norms any more than Democrats. We showed that Trump and Republican demands for censorship have paled against the totalitarian weaponization by Democrats of the Intelligence Community to spy on the Trump campaign, spread disinformation, interfere in elections, and create a global Censorship Industrial Complex. We repeatedly pointed out that between 2017 and 2021, the Trump administration obeyed court orders, consistent with the clear requirement under the Constitution that it do so. And we were the first to report on new evidence that President Barack Obama’s CIA Director had ordered the spying on Trump campaign officials to justify surveillance of the Trump campaign, spread disinformation, interfere in the 2016 election, and undermine a duly elected president. Since Trump’s reelection, we have defended his administration’s justified cuts to USAID, the Department of Education, and other agencies. We have welcomed his use of legal executive authority to make sweeping orders to end “gender-affirming care” for minors and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We documented and condemned the role of the CIA and USAID in instigating and justifying the impeachment of Trump in 2019, and USAID for contributing to the Russia collusion hoax. We have argued that Democrats and the media’s claims that these actions are unconstitutional are false and politically motivated. Few formerly Left-wing journalists and commentators have done more to recognize and document the Left’s descent into totalitarianism and irrationality. We have made the case that, given Democrats’ many failures and abuses of power, Trump’s victory was a moral win, not just an electoral one. Given all of this, we believe it is necessary to speak out against the Trump Administration’s recent violations of the spirit and, and perhaps the letter, of the United States Constitution with regards to free speech, privacy, and the separation of powers. The Trump administration detained and may deport a Palestinian student activist named Mahmoud Khalil for his involvement in university protests and his alleged support for Hamas. The Trump administration is using AI to review the social media accounts of tens of thousands of foreign students for wrongthink. And the administration, over the weekend, ignored a judge’s order to return planeloads of alleged gang members from Venezuela to the United States and instead sent them to El Salvador, claiming that the 1798 Alien Enemies Act allows for its noncompliance because it is non-justiciable outside of the court’s authority. These actions do not, either individually or together, approach anything close to the unconstitutional “whole-of-society” censorship and weaponization of government by the Democratic Party, but they may become a pattern that, if left unchecked, threatens to undermine the administration’s moral authority. Given the ongoing assault on free speech and individual rights in Europe, maintaining this authority is sorely needed if civil liberties and Enlightenment values are to be upheld in the West. The courts may still rule that some of those actions are constitutional. The fact that the Palestinian student activist is not a citizen may make his deportation constitutional. Democrats have been using the National Science Foundation for the last decade to fund universities the development of AI-based censorship tools to give or sell to social media platforms. And the Justice Department has complied with orders by a judge for a sworn declaration, and the court will hold another hearing on Friday. Even so, the Trump administration’s actions violate the spirit of the Constitution’s protections for freedom of speech, privacy, and due process. Khalil was indeed involved in negotiations between Columbia University and student protestors, and many foreign students have expressed anti-Israel views, but deporting someone for exercising what appears to be a lawful exercise of free speech and using AI surveillance tools to surveil foreign students’ views on a complex topic, establish a dangerous precedent that will likely have an intended chilling effect on speech for foreign students and citizens alike, particularly around the Israel-Palestine conflict. Such a chilling effect is overreaching, counterproductive, and wrong. Both critics and supporters of Israel alike should reject such broad measures and instead support open discourse and debate on university campuses. And, given that American presidents have only activated the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 during wars, and since Congress has not approved of any war with Venezuela, it is for the judiciary, not the executive branch, to decide whether the Act is non-justiciable. The Alien Enemies Act has only been invoked previously during the War of 1812, World War I, and World War II, and even then, the courts reviewed whether the Act was being appropriately applied. Trump’s invocation of the statute refers to a “hybrid criminal state that is perpetrating an invasion of and predatory incursion into the United States.” The Act, however, specifies that the “invasion or predatory incursion” must be one perpetrated “by any foreign nation or government.” The administration claims that the Venezuelan gang is acting as a “de facto government in the areas in which it is operating,” but this argument is not legally sound. There is also not sufficient evidence to support the DOJ’s claim that the gang is taking directions from the Maduro government. Reinforcing the perception that the Trump administration is violating the Constitutionally protected separation of powers, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts yesterday condemned calls for the impeachment of the judge overseeing the Alien Enemies Act case. “For more than two centuries,” said Roberts in a public statement, “it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose.” Roberts’ statement may have been partly motivated by Trump’s statement, made a few hours earlier, about the Alien Enemies Case judge. “This judge,” wrote Trump on Truth Social, “like many of the Crooked Judges’ I am forced to appear before, should be IMPEACHED!!!” Roberts’ statement likely reflects the opinion of the majority of Supreme Court justices. It is rare for justices to issue public statements, as they tend to let their rulings speak for themselves. Two weeks ago, Roberts and Trump-appointed justice Amy Coney Barrett joined liberal justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson in refusing to overturn a lower court order requiring the Trump administration to pay out USAID grants. Barrett’s other rulings suggest that there are at least five justices who agree with Roberts. None of the three cases described above are needed for the Trump administration to implement its agenda. If any foreign students are a proven national security threat then they can be deported on that basis and not on their expressions of sympathy with Gazans or even Hamas. Our highest court has repeatedly ruled that Nazis can march through neighborhoods of Holocaust survivors as long as they do not immediately incite violence, and we should defend that high bar for censorship, as difficult as it is sometimes. And the Trump administration could have simply returned the alleged gang members to the United States, kept them in detention, and appealed the court’s order. Whatever political gains the Trump administration believes it is getting from such actions are significantly outweighed by their moral and political harm. In all three cases, the administration’s actions undermine the ethos in which our founding fathers created the United States of America as a beacon of freedom, privacy, and rule of law protected through the separation of powers. And the Trump administration’s actions undermine one of the central claims upon which Trump was elected, and which drew him support from independents and Democrats, which is that Trump would protect the public from an out-of-control deep state. “They’re not coming after me,” said Trump, famously, “they’re coming after you. I’m just standing in the way.” A top Democratic pollster recently confirmed that Trump won the popular vote because he persuaded Democrats and Independents to vote for him. While those voters may care more about inflation and immigration than civil liberties, many of them also care about free speech, privacy, and the separation of powers. And many of Trump’s new independent and liberal voters were likely alienated by the Democratic Party’s assault on civil liberties. If Trump signals that he is attacking free speech, violating the separation of powers, and “coming after” independent justices, he will undermine his presidency and destroy his nationalist and populist coalition. Trump himself must understand deeply the importance of civil liberties and the separation of powers. The IC illegally spied on his campaign and spread disinformation about him. The FBI invaded the sacred privacy of his home in Florida. The government censored his voters. No president in American history has been more victimized by unconstitutional governmental abuses of power than Trump. It is disrespectful to the civil libertarians and constitutionalists in the Republican coalition for the Trump administration to behave in ways that run contrary to their values. Many independents, Democrats, and liberals were reassured by Trump’s alliance with former liberal Democrats Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who are lifelong advocates for freedom of speech and privacy. The Transportation Security Administration apparently spied on Gabbard through its “Quiet Skies” program because of her foreign policy views. And the Biden Administration demanded and achieved censorship of Kennedy for his constitutionally protected speech. Trump’s former campaign manager and current chief of staff, Susie Wiles, understands the importance of building a big tent, including one that includes civil libertarians; it was at the heart of her successful strategy to win a majority of the popular vote in the 2024 election. Vice President JD Vance received his law degree from Yale Law School and has spoken out eloquently against European censorship. And Secretary of State Marco Rubio has made clear that he wants to put free speech at the center of America’s foreign policy diplomacy. Why, then, is the Trump administration engaged in such self-destructive behavior? Over the last decade, Western media, academics, and policymakers have understandably viewed right-wing nationalist victories as temporary aberrations soon to be corrected. After Britons voted to leave the European Union in June 2016 and Americans elected Donald Trump that November, prominent commentators predicted a swift return to deepening globalization. And indeed, Europe extended its globalist project. The United Kingdom’s globalist Conservative governments allowed net migration to rise to a record 906,000 in the year ending June 2023, more than four times pre-Brexit levels. Those same Conservatives passed a “net zero” emissions by 2050 into law in 2019, accelerated subsidies for offshore wind, and failed to tap North Sea oil and gas, even as energy bills climbed. And conservative ministers adopted World Health Organization guidance for Covid lockdowns, masking, and vaccination, and they expanded gender self-identification guidance in English schools. German and French establishment parties enforced a cordon sanitaire or firewall against the “far-right” Alternative for Germany (AfD) and the Rassemblement National (RN) parties, denying them coalition partners and most mainstream coverage, and American voters in 2020 elected Joe Biden, who reversed Trump’s border policies and rejoined the Paris climate accord on his first day in office. Biden restored Obama-era diversity, equity, and inclusion frameworks across the federal bureaucracy and revived federal pressure on social media companies to remove disfavored speech. But then, the reelection of Donald Trump in November 2024 dashed those hopes. Trump returned to power on promises to seal the southern border, deport illegal immigrants, end the electric vehicle mandate, withdraw from the Paris accord, and dismantle federal censorship of social media. Within hours of taking office, he signed an executive order banning federal involvement in online censorship and stripped the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency of its role in policing so-called misinformation. Vice President JD Vance told a stunned Munich Security Conference audience in February 2025 that “the threat I worry the most about vis-à-vis Europe is not Russia, it’s not China, it’s not any other external actor. What I worry about is the threat from within.” In February 2025, Trump called the European Union an “atrocity” and announced new tariffs. Democrats may yet retake the White House in 2028 and one or both chambers of Congress in this fall’s midterms. The Trump administration’s war with Iran, which began on February 28, 2026, has triggered the largest oil supply shock on record, rising gasoline prices, and a potential recession. Trump’s net approval rating sits at minus 23 points with 60% disapproving and 37% approving. California Governor Gavin Newsom unveiled a balanced $350 billion budget last week and called Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent “dumb and dumber” as he positioned himself for a 2028 run. And both Newsom and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke at the Munich Security Conference in February, implicitly responding to Vance, with Newsom telling the audience, “Donald Trump is temporary. He’ll be gone in three years.” And the globalists are fighting back in Europe. European Commission officials in Brussels are tightening their censorial grip on the digital public square through the Digital Services Act and a “Democracy Shield” program to demand censorship of the Right ahead of upcoming elections. In Britain, Labor leadership challengers Andy Burnham and Wes Streeting have openly called for the United Kingdom to rejoin the European Union. Streeting formally launched his leadership bid in May 2026 by calling Brexit “a catastrophic mistake” and saying “Britain’s future lies with Europe, and one day back in the European Union.” And France’s Marine Le Pen lost her right to run for the 2027 presidency on March 31, 2025, when a Paris court convicted her of embezzling EU funds and immediately barred her from public office for five years. But right-wing nationalists are not far from taking power in major European capitals. In Britain, the right-wing Reform UK party gained more than 1,400 seats in the May 7, 2026, local elections, while Labor lost more than 1,300 seats and the Conservatives lost over 500. Ninety-seven Labor MPs last week called on Prime Minister Keir Starmer to resign. Seventy percent of British respondents told YouGov in May 2026 that Starmer was performing “poorly.” In France, Jordan Bardella of the RN leads in the polls for the 2027 presidential election with 35 - 37.5% support, with Marine Le Pen close behind at 34% before her ban. President Emmanuel Macron’s approval rating fell to 11% in late 2025, the lowest the Verian polling firm had ever recorded. And in Germany, the AfD leads national polling at 29% against the center-right CDU/CSU’s 22%, the Greens’ 14%, and the SPD’s 12% as of mid-May 2026. Berlin polls now put the AfD in second place behind the CDU, a position once considered politically impossible in the capital. And mainstream conservative parties are already moving to the right on migration and climate. German Chancellor and CDU leader Friedrich Merz passed a non-binding migration motion in January with AfD support, breaking a seventy-five-year taboo against cooperating with the “far right.” Merz adopted much of the AfD’s migration language during his campaign, promising to turn migrants away at the border and to accelerate deportations. The cordon sanitaire that excluded the right has cracked, and the political center of gravity in Germany, and in much of Europe, has shifted toward the very positions that establishment leaders spent a decade demonizing. The implications for Europe, NATO, and the broader Western order are massive. NATO’s basic premise rests on a shared American and European commitment to defending an open liberal order, but Vance told European leaders in Munich that US support would depend on whether they honored free speech and democratic legitimacy, which they have not done. Tariffs and trade disputes between Washington and Brussels have replaced the steady tariff reductions that defined the postwar order. And the institutions that defined the transatlantic system since 1945, including NATO, the World Trade Organization, the World Health Organization, the United Nations climate accords, the World Economic Forum, and the European Union itself, are weaker than ever. Meanwhile, historic US support for maintaining open shipping lanes and Taiwan appears to be weakening. For nearly a decade, the legacy media and progressive activists demonized Trump, Farage, Bardella, and Weidel as fascists or Nazis bent on destroying democracy. President Biden in 2022, speaking against a blood-red backdrop at Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, declared that “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.” Yet today those same figures are governing or on the verge of governing major Western nations and cities. The question is why. Why did nationalism return? Why did the globalist consensus that ruled the West from 1945 to 2024 collapse so quickly? And why are right-wing nationalists winning despite sustained attacks from the establishment? Rosebel became one of South America’s largest, yielding over 6 million ounces. Today, it’s operated by Zijin. GSR stock jumped 600% in the early '90s thanks to these wins. Investor Mike Halvorson says GSR’s work in the Guianas and Suriname put the area on the map for mining. “Back in those days, from a political point of view, it was considered high-risk to go into the Guianas,” Gignac remembers. “It took a lot of guts for [Fennell] to get involved, and a lot of guts to follow him there. We eventually mined about twice the [initial] reserves at Omai. By doing Omai, it was that much easier to do Rosebel. We were comfortable with the region and its people. There's a lot of advantages in these countries. It's simpler. Decision makers are easier to know and be in contact with.” Halvorson remembers Fennell throwing a 'chirping' analyst into a pool on one Suriname stay. The guy skipped on the water like a stone. Fennell and Halvorson connected in Edmonton in the 1980s through their love of migratory bird hunting. “Anything that walks, flies or swims, Dave has killed,” says mining engineer Bruce McLeod, who hunts and fishes with Fennell. A massive Anaconda snake skin once adorned the crown mouldings in Fennell’s Montreal offices. At 41, Fennell lucked out as the sole bidder for Sigrist House, once King Edward VIII's Bahamian villa. Fennell lived there 28 years before downsizing. In the late 90’s, Fennell clashed with GSR's board and was pushed out. Later, GSR refocused on Africa and was sold to a Chinese company. To avoid GSR conflicts, Fennell eyed new gold regions. BHP's Hugo Dummett offered him all their gold assets for $80 million. But with few flush bidders, BHP sold the portfolio in pieces. Ivanhoe got Mongolia and discovered Oyu Tolgoi. Randgold took West Africa, and Harmony got East Africa. "If you'd have kept that package together, it'd be the second largest copper company [today]. And you'd be arguing with Newmont about who was the biggest gold company," Fennell says. He bought the Canadian assets for US $20.4 million. It had Hope Bay, a 4 million ounce gold discovery in the high arctic. Fennell dealt through Cambiex Exploration (CBX), where he’d been appointed Chair and CEO in January ‘99, when CBX was a 15 cent stock with a $3.5 million market cap. CBX split the tab with Miramar, a modest gold miner sitting on cash. Miramar swallowed CBX in 2002, appointing Fennell Executive Vice Chairman. Miramar invested about $100 million in Hope Bay and led it through permitting. In 2008, Newmont bought Miramar for $1.5 billion. Every $1 invested in CBX’s equity funding when Fennell took over in early ‘99 was worth $19.50 when Newmont acquired Miramar 9 years later. CBX shareholders made even more money through a spinout company, Ariane Gold, acquired by Cambior in ‘03. Rob McLeod, a geologist at Hope Bay, admired Fennell's strong presence, humour, and optimism. Fennell built bonds with Inuit partners through fishing and Crib games, easing the permitting process. Fennell would need that optimism for his next venture. – In 2004, Fennell listed Nevada explorer New Sleeper. A name change to Reunion Gold (RGD) came in 2006, after recruiting former GSR colleagues and pivoting again to the Giuanas. The stock ran from 30 cents to over $2 in early ‘07 on the back of a Suriname gold find. It didn’t pan out. RGD crashed to 3.5 cents during the ‘08 financial crisis. “When you take your shareholder's money and you say you're going to do this, and if it's not successful, my job is to fix that and I'm not going to roll all the stock back. I'm not going to wipe shareholders out,” Fennell says, explaining RGD’s current 1.23 billion shares. Reunion roared back above $2 again after a Guyana manganese discovery. Then, metal prices crashed, cutting RGD to one penny by 2016. “You're going to fail a hundred percent guaranteed in both exploration and football,” Fennell says. “The real question is, what are you going to do after you fail?” A US $10 million sale of the manganese project provided a lifeline. In 2019, Barrick partnered with Reunion on exploration, committing $4.2 million. Reunion was a 7 cent stock in 2020 when they found gold at Guyana’s Oko project. But, Barrick quickly abandoned the alliance and skipped a $3 million commitment. They even sued Reunion after Oko's success. In 2023, Barrick and RGD settled, owing nothing to each other. Oko moved from a prospect to a major gold deposit rapidly. An initial 2023 resource estimate showed 4.3 million ounces (indicated plus inferred). Fennell believes Oko could be the best gold mine in South America. He sees a 300--400,000 ounce per year, low-cost mine, with a 12 year initial mine life. "It’s going to be much bigger and longer,” Fennell says, optimistically. “Whether we're going to live longer is a whole different question." Reunion aims to publish a PEA study on Oko before Summer. Fennell also looks forward to a feasibility study and final permits in Q1 2015, with construction to start soon after. "From a discovery to a tier one mine in [potentially] six years, it doesn't get any better," Fennell says. He’s in Georgetown this week, talking with the Guyanese government about Oko's future. Reunion’s looking at options: build, sell, merge, or partner up. Fennell wants RGD to avoid execution risk and debt. G Mining Services, led by Fennell's old friend Gignac, is advising on Oko. They've successfully built many mines, like Fruta del Norte in Ecuador (Lundin Gold - $3.7B market cap). Gignac's G Mining Ventures, doing well and on track in Brazil, could be a key player in Oko's future. “There will be a mine [at Oko]. There's absolutely no question,” says Gignac. “The size, grade, and gold content. That's going to be the next one to put on his record.” There’s a slight problem with Venezuela’s claim over Guyana’s Essequibo region, where Oko is. Fennell isn't worried. He says the US will protect it because of Exxon and Chevron’s huge oil investments there. Gignac says Fennell hasn't changed since they first met in the late 80s. "Always glass half-full, always enthusiastic. A track record as good as anybody at finding deals, doing exploration, and developing orebodies." Fennell is honest and a consummate salesman according to Rule. “I don't think in 35 years he ever lied to me, but he would polish the living shit out of the rear view mirror.” Some colourful highlights of my 2 hour Zoom with Mr. Fennell were published in raw video form below. I wouldn’t do that,” Johnson told a May 2022 Zoom meeting with teachers at Morgan Park High School. “And don’t think that if I did do something like that, folks wouldn’t come to try to figure out how to take me down.” The clip, posted August 10, 2025 by Austin Berg, comes as CTU fights a lawsuit to force release of annual financial audits it hasn’t shared since 2020 — the very years when the union’s once-$8.8 million reserve vanished. The paper trail leading to this moment runs back more than a decade, to 2014, when CTU sold Fewkes Tower, its 29-story apartment building at 55 W. Chestnut. In an interview for the Illinois Policy documentary Local 1: The Rise of America’s Most Powerful Teachers Union, Dr John Kugler (the author of this article) called this “go to jail” stuff because of what happened next: “When you say you’re gonna use the money for one thing, and you’re an education institution, and you give a bag of cash to guys to run political stuff on the street… What does that have to do with the kid that can’t read on the East Side? Nothing. That’s a concerted effort to deceive not only the members of the Chicago Teachers Union but the public… If you want to do politics, say we’re going to do politics… But if you’re pretending to do one thing, and then on the side you’re doing something else, that’s what I’m talking about.” From there, the Foundation became the financial engine for a gleaming new headquarters and millions in payouts to political allies — spending far removed from classrooms and contract fights, and shielded from the kind of scrutiny that would have come with keeping the money inside the union’s books. By 2018, the same leadership was pulling off another maneuver. Delegates had approved a $1.4 million supplemental budget to be split evenly between political campaigns, a contract fight, and public communications. What are people missing about this war? The ones in charge aren’t idiots. Trump might blunder, but the elites? Every move they make is calculated, they know exactly what they’re doing. This was not the result of Netanyahu hoodwinking a room full of confused officials into an accidental war. Nope, I’m sure he got what he wanted but what he wanted is what the elites wanted for the longest time. What happened in Iran was a calculated, pre-planned operation one that has been in the making for years actually. Let’s break this down, a months before the operation, Vice President JD Vance made a quiet diplomatic visit to both Azerbaijan and Armenia. The visit went largely unreported and under-analyzed. Why would a sitting VP tour that particular region while skipping some interesting places like Turkey and Georgia, one of America's longest-standing and strategically important partners. Back then I really did not understand that visit. But the answer becomes clearer in hindsight. Both Azerbaijan and Armenia have, for years, operated as Western-aligned states susceptible to geopolitical direction. Vance's visit, I would argue, was not ceremonial, it was a preparatory move. The message was when the moment comes, fall in line and I am willing to bet Iran was the main concern. They said it was to reinforce the Armenia Azerbaijan peace agreement, bullshit, they made that agreement more than six months ago. Another reason they said was to promote the regional trade and transport corridor connecting Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, and Europe. Well, the problem is, if this were a real reason, then he would have visited Turkey and Georgia, or at least Turkey, it’s right there! You can’t do this route without Turkey. The current main route from Azerbaijan to Turkey goes through Georgia. So why not visit at least Turkey. Oh, because all of this was a bullshit. In reality, JD was there to make sure that, in case of war with Iran, which they were already planning, these ducks would fall in line. One of the clearest indicators that the stated rationale for the Iran operation was fabricated is how rapidly it kept changing. First, we were told it was about regime change. Then, once the regime had effectively been dismantled and its leaders killed, the goalposts shifted to 'there was an imminent threat.' When that too fell apart under scrutiny with experts confirming no credible direct threat to the United States existed, a new narrative emerged, this was actually a proxy war against China. Each explanation contradicts the last. That is not the behavior of a government acting in self-defense. but we already know this, this is about America’s forever love - War, Power and Money! The real goal is dominance and total control, nothing else. This is a war over regional and global supremacy. Iran was cooperating, yet war was forced upon them anyway. The United States doesn’t have allies, it has doormats, used and discarded when convenient. Time and again, Washington imposes its will, Emerging as the world’s self‑appointed narcissist through wars and coups, and like every true narcissist, the blame always lies somewhere else. It’s never us it's always them. Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, China, China, China, China, Iran, Iran, Iran. Prove me wrong if you can, I can debate anybody anytime anywhere. Try prove me wrong! Iran was not attacked because it posed a threat to American citizens, the US gov. says this, not me. Iran was attacked because it was one of the last major powers in the Middle East that refused to submit to the established financial and geopolitical order. That is it! The Gulf states present no such problem. They are pussies with skyscrapers, they are transactional, wealthy and invested in their economic partnerships with the West. Also now that they saw how well the US ‘defended them’ you can see they started to reconsider certain things, as I said Pussies with skyscrapers! But make no mistake they are not going to rock the boat. Iran, by contrast, was defiant, and if you have not figured it out yet Americans - we need defiant countries out there. why? Because the deep state owns us and without outside help we are done. What does that mean exactly: During the American revolutionary war, several countries helped the United States gain independence from Great Britain. The most important supporter was France, which provided money, weapons, troops, and naval power, French forces played a decisive role in the victory at the siege of Yorktown in 1781, effectively ending the war. Spain, ruled by Charles III of Spain, also supported the American cause indirectly by supplying funds and military aid and by attacking British positions in North America. Russia under Catherine the Great refused Britain’s request to send troops to fight the American colonies and instead formed the league of armed neutrality in 1780 aiding Americans in victory, Russian coalition defended neutral shipping against British interference and weakened Britain’s naval pressure on American trade! Together, the military, financial, and diplomatic support of European powers played a decisive role in the American colonies' victory. Our independence, dear Americans, was not achieved by our efforts alone. It was made possible through alliances and cooperation. The lesson is simple: power comes from unity. Today, while the challenges look different and we may not need ships and troops, the principle still holds. When powerful institutions concentrate influence and operate without accountability, division only weakens the public. Unity, both within the country and with independent actors abroad, becomes essential. Many Americans can no longer afford a home, and economic pressure is rising across the middle and working classes. In times like these, competition and independent players in the global system are absolutely necessary. When alternative financial systems, banks, and economic partners exist, they limit the power of entrenched corporate monopolies and give ordinary people options. It gives you a chance to fight back! The tools of struggle have changed since the eighteenth century. We no longer need foreign fleets or armies to secure independence, but we do need competition in the financial and political systems that shape everyday life. A healthy society also protects those who expose wrongdoing. Whistleblowers such as Julian Assange and Edward Snowden revealed how dangerous modern surveillance and state secrecy can become. Without protections or safe havens for whistleblowers, the public loses a critical line of defense against unchecked authority. When those who reveal misconduct are silenced, imprisoned, or threatened, society risks becoming less informed and less capable and enslaved. The only reason Assange is alive is because of Rafael Correa, Ecuador, not because Americans were brave enough to stand up for him. No! it was another independent player who saved him. Correa who was never - Epstein class and they removed him from power. Snowden is only free because of Putin and they are fighting Putin with everything they have. Iran was one of free players and Americans whether you know it or not you needed Iran exactly the way it was - a free player! So yes, having independent states out there is absolutely a must, and yet there are idiots cheering for the destruction of Iran today. There is so little thinking done around all this, and only a few people truly understand the severe consequences of what is happening here. Iran was the first domino in the endgame. The logic runs as follows, with Russia tied down in Ukraine and China still consolidating its position, now was the optimal window to remove the most unpredictable obstacle in the Middle East before turning attention further east. Tucker Carlson and others have suggested this is fundamentally Israel’s war, a campaign to neutralize Iran and fulfill certain ideological goals, including the rebuilding of the Temple. That narrative is real and true, but it is only a small part of it. It is the story told to the lower levels and lower ranks, religious people, some fanatics in Israel, generals, and the true believers, the patriotic and religious framing that gives the operation moral weight at the ground level and guarantees support and undying loyalty by the morons. Do you really think Bibi cares about any religious war, or God, or any temple? The man is fully evil, he has no real interest in religion or the temple, but he knows how to manipulate people who do. So the plan is real in the sense that it is presented to the religious fanatics in Israel who truly believe they are fighting for their messiah and their destiny. In reality, the goal for Bibi and the elites is, again, power and control of the world. Idiots will die for their cause while Bibi will live to dominate and make no mistake he will spend your money to rebuilt it all for him and his bosses. The financial and banking elite, the same network that bankrolled Epstein's social operations and has quietly owned Latin American political infrastructure for decades, have a different, longer game in mind. They need a fully controlled Middle East as a staging ground before they can seriously pressure Russia and China. The regional picture is already largely secured, Venezuela has been weakened, and with it Cuba loses much of the backbone that sustained it for years, it was already crippled. Latin America, for the most part, has already been brought into the fold. Europe, meanwhile, has effectively neutralized itself through leadership groomed within elite circles and institutions, with political alignment shaped by networks like the Bilderberg and the World Economic Forum. Figures such as Ursula von der Leyen and Mark Rutte did not simply rise to power by accident.They were put their for a reason. What remains on the board? Russia and China. In the meantime, Iran is being relentlessly bombed, and many Americans are cheering it on. It would almost be funny if it weren’t so tragic. People who can’t even afford a home in the US because of the same financial forces that hollowed out our own economy are now applauding the destruction of another country whose independence would have aided them in their fight against global power structures. In doing so, they are cheering for a system that ultimately works against their own interests. The US’s game plan will be committing ground troops with air support. I’m almost sure of it. They will arm not just the Kurds (terrible people) and also the Baloch. The goal is to replicate what was done to the Soviet Union from within, inflame nationalist sentiment inside Iran, stoke ethnic grievances, and fracture the country along demographic fault lines. That will result in perpetual conflict and divide Iran into pieces. Divide and conquer. Controlling a diverse Iran is easier. That is the goal. They have done it before to Russia and many others.That is the plan. What does Israel get in this? Israel will be a tool through which all of this is controlled and done. That is a great deal for Israel at least for Bibi. You know, there’s a hierarchy in everything, even in evil. Evil has its own hierarchy. Manuel Noriega was an evil man, capable of many terrible things. Yet even he once said that the real devil sits in Washington! You should take that seriously, because he was a man who worked with that devil, he knew the system from the inside. And when someone like Noriega, points to a greater devil above him, that’s when you know you’re dealing with a much bigger problem and that should concern you.
