The CEO of Lululemon has stood by his company’s decision to fire employees who called the police when the store was being robbed. CEO Calvin McDonald says that the athletic wear company has a “zero-tolerance policy” for employees “engaging during a theft” and said that two female employees who called police during the robbery broke company policy. The two women were fired without receiving severance pay. The two employees in a Georgia store called police when 3 masked men started stealing and reportedly attempted to engage with them and follow them out of the store. While the CEO said they stood by the decision a spokesperson for the brand said they were fired for “physically engaging with the perpetrators which put their lives and the safety of our guests and other employees at risk.” Source: CNBC/ NY Post

The Democrats went farther left. Any rational, sane person is going to look at these elections with fear about who the Democrats have become. This is not the win they think it is.

But as Sam explains: “The culture that matters to the best people is one where they can just come and be really productive and be around other great people. If you have a culture which looks good on the surface but somehow rejects super talented people… I think that can be a real problem.” In this interview from 2017, Sam warns that it’s very easy to get entitled employees: “Everyone wants to work exactly how they want. They want to be really rich right now. If the company is not going to get liquid next year, they’re going to go somewhere else.” It may sound crazy to expect employees to join a company and stay there for 5-10 years, but at the best companies, that’s what happens. The problem is we founders were never really prepared to be great CEOs. We were taught to learn by doing and that's great for a founder. It is not good as a CEO. I was naturally good founder, I think I was a very good early stage CEO. The moment I had to have an executive team, I really struggled to make the shift from a founder to CEO. In the 2010s, I do not think I was a great CEO. We paid the price for my learning curve. And then the pandemic happened. We had a near death experience and I said screw all the rumination it's do or die. And I learned how to do the job."
