Milton Friedman couldn’t persuade Thomas Sowell to give up Marxism, but working for the federal government could.

Here, Thomas Sowell explains why the federal government bureaucracy tends to rot and do everything it can avoid solving problems to survive.

Marxism is such a beautiful idea. All it needs to work is for the human race to be altruistic, selfless, hardworking with no thought of reward and wise. Too bad we got the other kind.

Government is never the answer

When students for liberty post better sowell quotes than the sowell quotes account:

Public Choice Theory.

I'd argue academic arguments draw lines, but government work draws queues. Sowell chose reality over the beautiful theory that created them.

This explains why the homeless crisis has cost California more money each and every year that Gavin Newsom and his army of progressive parasites have falsely claimed to be solving it.

Students for liberty? For truly 1=1 1x1 business liberty? My years long and insistant calls for them to get down to business accuracy business IN PRACTICE never got attention! I cannot give any credit to them all chickening out...

The great man. True inspiration

Yup. That's government.

In the end, governments will always do what benefits them. We all need a wake up moment like Sir Thomas.

Just like the; homeless industrial complex, scamdemic and "climate change". The goal is never to address the root cause for a solution. The goal is to get rich quick!

Government agencies? Also Teacher's Unions. Ostensibly and oft state their to help the kids but the reality is that unions live to perpetuate unions. Classic example is class size. Better teachers can handle more kids but small sizes mean more teachers-more dues.

![Economist Thomas Sowell was once a Marxist, but now he advocates for free markets. "What was your wake-up to what was wrong with [Marxism]?" Dave Rubin asked him. "Facts," Sowell replies. Here’s why I admire Sowell:](https://image.24vids.com/tw-1630303758105350145/media/EsEYiR8XYAAgdW2.jpg)
