Then why do other countries levy so many tariffs against the US?

Dive into the critical issues shaping economic policy, from President-elect Trump’s sweeping tariff proposals to the challenges Texas faces under rising government spending. Now is the time for bold reforms to protect taxpayers and ensure economic freedom thrives.

This only works until your entire working class has no job. Then who's around to buy the low priced goods? Milton was right about this in the 80s, but times have changed.

Actually it Protects the American ppl from Getting ripped off. We send China our gold they send us back trinkets.

That goes for the tariffs imposed on the US

So we should just continue to have our products get high Tariffs and do nothing.

He’s right! Trump forcing countries to lower their tariffs in exchange for lowering our tariffs will help lower prices worldwide! Milton Freeman is a genius! Great idea!

No tariffs - much better - even/equalized tariffs are the only answer if any have to be in place

@serpunketh @elonmusk you loved to quote Milton Friedman. What happened? Love lost now?

I guess if all you buy is cheap shit made in China by slave labor 😂

The great schizophrenia of economics is to assume that consumers and producers are two different GROUPS. WE ARE NOT. We are two different market FORCES. Tariffs may initially raise prices while increasing employment, salaries, wealth. The worker has a net gain. Common sense.
