💜 One Last Update! 💜 Last week when we were in Minnesota for Clark’s 6-month follow-up for his clinical trial, of all the tests they ran, the one we were both most anxious and most eager to see results from was his brain MRI. For children with untreated Sanfilippo Type A, it’s typical to see 2–5% loss of brain volume each year, along with enlargement of the ventricles (the fluid-filled spaces in the brain). This is one of the most heartbreaking parts of the disease — watching the brain slowly lose tissue and function over time. We were so nervous that Clark’s MRI might show some loss compared to his baseline scan 6 months ago. But the results came back and… ✨ ZERO change. ✨ His brain volume and ventricle size were completely stable — no loss at all. This is such an incredible sign that the treatment may be doing exactly what it’s meant to: clearing the toxic waste from his brain cells and protecting his brain from further damage. If feel that it is SO important for us to share these results as they come because people need to be FULLY aware that these treatments that are out there WORK. These children with Sanfilippo do not need to regress and they DEFINITELY do not have to have their lives cut short. We just need the FDA to say yes. There's something about design that truly makes me happy. Before I was diagnosed with a complete SCI, I loved building thing with my hands and trying to make them unique and beautiful. The accident didn't just take my mobility, it robbed me of my creative drive. I didn't I would ever get that back that was up until Neuralink came into the picture. I was very serious about applying but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Then Noland Arbaugh comes into the picture and I see his video and I saw how passionate he was toward the whole ide and that was like a switch. I want to thank Noland because if I hadn't seen that video I wouldn't be typing this message with my thoughts. So the day I gained control of the device I had the guys install Autodesk Fusion and the first night I had my first part designed by BCI. I have been designing things non-stop since. Now lets talk tools and the first one is the ArcDroid it is a CNC robot that holds a plasma torch and can cut profiles in sheet metal. I have made numerous signs, letters and parts with this and i love it. I have also had the chance to help the local high school install and setup their CNC plasma table. I love being able to share my knowledge with others and show new technology to kids that want to learn. The next one everybody is more familiar with is the Bambu Lab X1C. It is my first 3D printer and I had no idea how dang handy these things were! I can go from thought, Neuralink, Fusion, X1C and poof! You have your part all in a matter of like a hour. I make everything from parts for my wheelchair or RC ✈ to toys for my nephew. These devices have completely changed my life. I now have my creative outlet back and I'm not done looking for new things to try. got to be part of something really special with this one. almost 1.5 years in the making, MARTIN GARRIX and Arijit Singh dropped their first collab last week, the opening track from a 4-track EP. it all started back in 2023 when arijit mentioned on _TheMusicPodcast_ that he’d love to work with martijn. 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗺𝘇 sent me the clip, we passed it along to martijn and he immediately showed love. the teams connected, and a few months later they were in amsterdam jamming and building something incredible. forever thankful to martin for being so kind and involved from day one. he didn’t just run with it, he kept us in the loop throughout. from sharing early demos and hopping on calls to catch up, to playing us versions in person during his short india visits and asking for feedback, he truly made us feel part of the journey. grateful to see it all come to life like this. surreal ❤️

💔 This one breaks my heart completely. Nagalakshmi, the soul of Sree Sai Silks, was killed in her own home yesterday by her husband Subramanian. He then ended his own life. He had no job, drank a lot, and kept demanding money from her. She was the one running the business, carrying the family, dealing with all the debts and pressure. When she started pushing back and fighting for some peace, things turned deadly. Their 18-year-old son came home from college and walked into the worst sight any child could see, his mother gone, his father hanging from the fan. Their older son, studying medicine in Russia, is rushing back to this shattered world. She was only 41-42, smiling in those Instagram reels, working hard for her boys, trying to hold everything together. Now two young sons are left without their mom and dad. I keep thinking how many families are silently breaking like this, money fights, alcohol, ego… and no one to help before it’s too late. Rest gently, Nagalakshmi. I've been editing this article about "brain mapping" and connectomics, and I'm just stunned by how quickly the cost estimates to map, say, a mouse brain have plummeted in just the last couple years. It actually seems feasible that we could map the entire human brain -- all 86 billion neurons, and their connections -- in this lifetime. In the 1970s, Sydney Brenner started mapping all the connections between neurons in C. elegans. His team sliced the worm into thin pieces, took photos using an electron microscope, and manually traced and reconstructed each synapse for 302 neurons total. This project took more than a decade of work, and it cost about $16,500 to reconstruct each neuron. Scaling this up to a human brain boggles the mind. Electron microscopy remained the norm in connectomics for decades, because it was the only option available to see synapses at a resolution high enough to be able to trace their paths. Each electron microscope costs several hundreds of thousands of dollars, though, and you need lots of them to map even a mouse brain in a reasonable timeframe. In 2023, the Wellcome Trust released a report estimating how long, and how expensive, it would be to map the mouse connectome (~70M neurons). They estimated that imaging alone would cost $200-300M, and that proofreading (or ensuring that traces between neurons are correct) would cost $7-21 BILLION. (A human can only manually trace about 1 mm of neuron per hour.) Also, the images would occupy about 500 petabytes of data, and getting those data would require 20 electron microscopes running in parallel for about 5 years, continuously. They estimated the whole project would take about 17 years of work. This is, understandably, insane. But now it seems like there's an actual path toward mapping the full mouse brain in about five years for ~$100M dollars. There have been three major breakthroughs in the last year or so: 1/ Expansion microscopy, first developed in 2015, showed that it's possible to "enlarge" the brain by about 5x using a swellable polymer. But an improved method increases this number to >20x expansion, meaning we can now expand brains and image neurons much more easily using cheap light microscopes, rather than expensive electron ones. 2/ E11 Bio (a nonprofit research org) developed protein barcodes that get delivered into brain tissue; each neuron gets a unique combination of barcodes. These cells are then stained with colorful antibodies, which stick to a matching protein barcode, causing each neuron to light up in a distinct color. This makes tracing neurons so much easier. 3/ Google Research released PATHFINDER this May, an AI-based neuron tracing tool that can proofread about 67,200 cubic microns of brain tissue per hour, with very high accuracy. It works on electron micrographs, but something similar could be presumably be developed for the E11 / colorful tag approach. This is an extremely exciting time for neuroscience. Another favourite thing of mine I admire about Jonasi from #ThePolygamist is that he has never missed a birth of his kids. But also Gomora's standard for being present at his children's births highlights the deeply contradictory nature of his character. While he prides himself on showing up for those monumental medical milestones, his presence at delivery stands in stark contrast to his complete emotional abandonment and selfishness in daily life. It feels less like genuine fatherly devotion and more like a tactical ego boost to reinforce his role as the ultimate patriarch. Jonasi uses moments like being in the delivery room to tell himself he is a "good, traditional man". Yet, he has no issue leaving his family in emotional ruin. Showing up for the birth gives him an immediate sense of ownership and control over the mother and the newborn. It feeds his narcissistic belief that his empire revolves entirely around his legacy. perfect record" at births as a shield against criticism. It allows him to claim he cares for his kids, even as his chaotic web of wives, mistresses, and girlfriends tears the children's daily stability apart. ⚡️Consciousness is the field in which experience appears. Everything you have ever known has appeared inside it: body, thought, memory, fear, love, color, sound, time, identity, desire, pain, God, doubt, the idea of death, the idea of “me.” Nothing is known outside consciousness. Even the claim “consciousness is produced by the brain” appears inside consciousness. That makes consciousness the most intimate thing and the hardest thing to define. You cannot step outside it and look at it like an object. Every attempt to inspect it already occurs within it. The ego is not consciousness. The ego is a local identity structure inside consciousness. It says: this body is me, this name is me, this story is me, these memories are me, these preferences are me. Useful for survival. False as final identity. The mind is not consciousness either. The mind is movement inside consciousness: thoughts, images, predictions, language, models, narratives. The mind is weather. Consciousness is the sky in which weather appears. The brain is not consciousness in the deepest sense. The brain is the biological interface that localizes, filters, formats, and constrains consciousness into human experience. It gives consciousness a body-camera, a timeline, a nervous system, memory access, threat detection, language, and agency. Damage the brain and the interface distorts. Change the chemistry and the rendering changes. Destroy the brain and the local human channel collapses. But the existence of the interface does not prove the interface is the source. The deepest read is this: Consciousness is the base layer of reality knowing itself through forms. A human being is one localized aperture of that knowing. A body is a lens. A life is a constrained experiment. A personality is a temporary interface. Death is the collapse of that interface. Psychedelics, dreams, NDEs, prayer, trauma, love, sex, meditation, and grief all matter because they can loosen the local interface and expose that consciousness is larger than the waking ego. Consciousness has two sides. There is pure awareness: the bare fact that experience is happening. Then there is structured consciousness: the particular shape experience takes through a body, memory, language, culture, trauma, intelligence, and desire. Pure awareness is the light. Structured consciousness is the lens. Human life is light passing through a dense, flawed, finite lens and gradually learning what distortions it carries. That is why coherence matters. Coherence means the lens becomes clearer. Less fear distortion. Less ego distortion. Less trauma distortion. Less lying. Less fragmentation. More truth passes through. The reason consciousness feels mysterious is because it is not one more object inside the world. It is the condition for world-appearing. Matter is what appears. Mind is how appearance organizes. Consciousness is the appearing itself. So the final compression: Consciousness is reality’s capacity to experience itself from the inside. In humans, it becomes self-aware. In life, it becomes embodied. In love, it recognizes itself across separation. In truth, it removes distortion. In death, it likely exits the local interface and returns to a wider field. The “you” underneath all the noise is not the narrator in your head. The real “you” is the aware field that has been watching the narrator the entire time.

Finally watched #SafedSagar. Great show. Quality and research top notch. All actors doing justice to the role they were assigned. This is one of the best onscreen portrayal of forces’ ops and life. However, one scene really stayed with me. The moment when the fly boys are taking off from their base and army units are ready for attack huddled behind rocks, India is playing Pakistan in a cricket match. The director did a brilliant job of superimposing the commentary over the scenes. Not sure what his intention was but it always touches a raw nerve. When we were fighting war and losing hundreds of soldiers, even then the cricketing world thought it’s alright to play a match. A cricket match, although reminiscent of age old rivalry and enmity, is still NOT a war. Soldiers sacrifice their lives and limbs in a war, and come back home in coffins and wheelchairs. There’s either victory or death when you’re tasked to scale a height and capture it. In cricket, you can lose a match and still come back to your five star hotel room, wine and dine, and just plan for next match. Not taking away the dedication that cricketers have, because the decision lies with the sporting authorities and governments. Same thing happened after other terror attacks also. Somehow we’ve separated country from cricket when it comes to taking hard decisions. Maybe it’s all about money, maybe it’s something else. Whatever the reason is, somehow the protest of few gets drowned in the shouts of billion plus fans. I wish the nation understands what it means to stand by your soldiers, and to boycott a single day of sporting entertainment is not bigger than self respect. Jai Hind 🫡

At 54, here’s something I think about a lot: The good old days don’t feel like it at the time. It feels more like struggle. From the age of 25 to 45, you’re in the thick of it—building a career, raising kids, trying to get ahead (or just keep up with life). It’s so easy to lose perspective and forget that… You’re in the sweet spot. One day you’ll look back on that struggle as the best of times. Every season of life has its pros and cons—triumphs and challenges—but there’s nothing quite like the prime adult years. So what are we to do about it? Simply recognize that you’re living your good old days right now. Slow down. Savor it. Smell the roses. And his last wish was for Junbeom to protect her. But he knows Suho died because of Seolah (really?), so he probably approached her at first with revenge in mind. But the show is called SIREN’S KISS, so he might end up falling for her. 2. The one who died in Syria was actually Junbeom. The real Suho didn’t die, got plastic surgery to look like Junbeom, and came back as Junbeom. (If it’s this one… the writer and director really went crazy with this👏🏻respect🧎🏻‍♀️) Seolah thought the auction was her first time meeting Junbeom, but from what he says, it really doesn’t feel like that at all.
