It’s adorable how they keep trying this Marxist historical revisionism. Johnson wasn’t even at the Stonewall riot (1969) until after the riots had started. He said so himself. The Gay Rights Movement began in 1924 with Henry Gerber, but fizzled out and was revived with the Mattachine Society by Harry Hay, Rudi Gernreich, Bob Hull, Chuck Rowland, Dale Jennings. The Gay Rights Movement began long before the Stonewall riot. Johnson was a drag queen, identifying as a teansvestite, which in that time would be a crossdresser. In his own nomenclature, a gay who likes to do drag. He was not a transsexual, as was the term for a transgender person in the time. He didn’t even live his life in drag as seen by this photo of him out of costume. He had no and reviled by the community, save some drag circles, and had no accomplishments to his name. He couldn’t even keep the STAR house open and he squatted in a trailer until it was repossessed.

For the last time, Marsha P. Johnson was not transgender. He referred to himself as a "boy" and a "transvestite" as seen below. He was a homosexual man and it's incredibly disrespectful of TQ+ people to continue to disrespect someone's memory by claiming otherwise. He was not there when the riots started at Stonewall and the people (lesbian women and gay men) who are responsible for the first pride and knew Marsha have confirmed this over and over again. Some of them are on Twitter. Ask them. When I say that I owe none of my rights to trans women it isn't me disrespecting anybody, it is me RESPECTING the people to whom I do owe my rights to and those people are lesbians and gay men. You don't get to come into LGB spaces in the last 4 or 5 years, kick us out of them, rewrite our history and then call us disrespectful or transphobes. Stop being an ignorant homophobe and get your shit off our flag.
