Hundreds of demonstrators dressed in black and wearing balaclavas blocked the streets around Dover earlier today, shouting 'stop the boats' in what the Port of Dover described as a 'public order incident'. The protest seemed to take the police by surprise and intimidated residents. The demonstrators were eventually escorted to the railway station. It appears an anti-immigration group with links to the far right have claimed responsibility for the demonstration.

Fantastic British patriots have shut the roads in Portsmouth tonight to stop another boatload of illegal immigrants being slipped into the country. A large dinghy that set off from Normandy was intercepted in the Channel by RNLI lifeboats and brought into Langstone Harbour, near Portsmouth. Locals and the Patriotic Platform, led by Danny Thomas, were already there. They are blocking the roads so these illegal immigrants cannot be driven away under police escort to be processed. These are true and proud patriots doing vital work. The police, acting like enemies of Britain, are there to protect the migrants not the public they are supposed to serve.

The boat’s occupants were brought to shore in the maritime city, where it is understood they will be processed as is routine, the Press Association reported.
