How is it that an economist who was the director of Institute for Fiscal Studies — probably the premier institution for fiscal policy research — for 14 years, so clueless on inflation? How did someone whose career involved 3 years at the Treasury not know this? When people like this are informing policy, we ought to be worried. The total lack of understanding around inflation, government bonds, and wider macroeconomics is shocking. No wonder there are people who think a shadowy cabal of “bond vigilantes” are purposefully bringing down the government. They don’t understand that when someone lends you lots of money they want to be sure that you’re going to pay it back!

A pair of friends were roadtripping for hours. Before they knew it, it was already beginning to get dark, they keep driving though. It’s now 3am, and they aren’t sure where they are. They look on the map and determine they are somewhere in the Appalachian mountains. The trail is thick with fog, it’s hard to see. The passenger starts being concerned, warning the driver that they aren’t supposed to be here and this isn’t where they wanna be. “Like a Crucifix to a Vampire” - Crown Refuses to Show NZ Vaccine Data to the Court New Zealand whistleblower Barry Young Barry Young describes how the Crown continues to refuse to show the Court the vaccine database evidence. The judge ordered the data to be produced, yet while the Crown gave the spreadsheet to their own expert witness (Professor Robert Scragg of Auckland University - the same expert who claimed the vaccine was so safe he didn’t even need to look at it), they refused to provide it to the court. When challenged on proper procedure, they initially agreed, then backtracked weeks later claiming it was “too hard,” and are now actively refusing to show the evidence to the judge. Barry suggests that the only logical reason is that they are terrified of what the data actually shows. Clip Transcript: "It's like a crucifix to a vampire. They cannot look at it because they're just terrified of it. And that's been apparent throughout, even with this latest hearing. The judge said, to the court, to his credit, said, "I want to see the data." They [The Crown] gave the spreadsheet to their professor, their expert witness, they gave the data to him. The one who said, "It's such a safe vaccine... that I don't need to look at it." Yep... Professor [Robert] Scragg, Auckland University. And the judge said, as a matter of procedure, if you show the evidence to the expert, the court expects to see it as well. That's process 101. And the Crown said, "Oh, yes, if it would benefit the court, we will produce the data. We will give it to the court." Even though I would have like for these to be full length scenes by themselves, its still veeerrryyy cute. Its always nice to see couples finally get their happily ever after. Not having to look over there shoulders waiting for things to come crashing down. Minus the Prem's parents: they should have been punished for longer. - ENDLESS LOVE #PoisonousLoveFinalEP

I'm seeing lots of people "one shot" games again with the new Opus 5 model by Anthropic So I wanted to try it again too This is New Amsterdam in 1660 (current day New York City) based on real historical maps, it mostly one-shotted it doing its own research Not perfect at all yet, and lots of issues to fix: - weird stuff in the canal - some house edges are open - windmill doesn't look very Dutch But nice!
