That’s why this movie is called “Miracle run” because the state doesn’t do shit like this unless they’re under 5. This is/was my mom’s life, and mine. I remember the pec boards, the behaviorists, nothing ever stuck for language for my brother and sister. My sister is 26 still can’t talk to this day. My brother is a violent entitled pos. One time the grocery store scene did happen to us, my sister bit my mom really badly when we were little, and everyone just kept staring at us. My mom said “what is there to stare at? Because it’s interesting to you? Because it’s different? Never have seen autism before? Wanna try?” And left. I remember that day. never had a day without looks in public. now that we’re 26, at least it’s not a “child” thing now. It’s just the way it is. I kinda got shoved aside my whole life because I was normal. Now I’m the one taking care of them as my job.
