Why don't politicians speak like this to their colleagues when they have power. That, in my view, should be wise and more useful.🤔

More fire 🔥 Man Solomon OWUSU on the arrest of Dennis Miracle Aboagye Dennis Edward Aboagye by the EOCOghana EOCO EOCOghana Arrests Miracles Aboagye Over Alleged GH¢55m IMCCoD Fraud Probe. The *Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO)* has confirmed the arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye in connection with alleged financial and procurement irregularities amounting to approximately *GH¢55 million* during his tenure as former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD). Mr. Aboagye was apprehended alongside Gerald Appiah, the former accountant of the IMCCoD Secretariat. In a statement released on Monday, July 13, 2026, EOCO disclosed that the arrests stem from an ongoing investigation into suspected misappropriation, misapplication, diversion, and theft of public funds at the Secretariat. The probe was initiated following a petition by the current Executive Secretary of IMCCoD, seeking deeper scrutiny into a forensic audit covering the period from August 1, 2022, to February 2, 2025. According to EOCO, Mr. Aboagye popularly known as “Miracles” Mr. Appiah and other individuals are under investigation for alleged offences including *conspiracy to steal, stealing, using public office for profit, causing financial loss to the State, dissipation of public funds, defrauding by false pretences, and money laundering.* The anti-graft agency noted that Mr. Aboagye’s arrest was precipitated by fresh revelations last week regarding suspected fraud and theft. EOCO stated that the former IMCCoD chief was already cognizant of the investigation and had previously presented himself at its offices. The agency revealed it had placed Mr. Aboagye on a stop order a week prior as part of a tactical plan to effect his arrest, but he had departed the country without its knowledge. EOCO indicated that officers of the Ghana Immigration Service executed the stop order upon Mr. Aboagye’s arrival at Accra International Airport on Saturday, July 11, and subsequently transferred him to investigators on Sunday morning. He later accompanied EOCO officials on a search operation on Sunday, which the agency said remains ongoing. EOCO further confirmed that Mr. Aboagye will be granted bail in accordance with Ghana’s Constitution and applicable statutes, while Mr. Appiah is expected to fulfill his bail conditions and be released as inquiries continue. The agency also revealed that Mr. Appiah had voluntarily commenced refunding monies linked to the alleged offences. However, EOCO cautioned that such recoveries do not terminate the investigation. “Those recoveries do not and by themselves conclude the investigative process neither does it absolve any suspect of any crime,” EOCO stated. The Office reiterated its commitment to pursuing the matter with professionalism and impartiality, while upholding the constitutional rights of all persons involved. “EOCO remains committed to conducting its investigations professionally, impartially and strictly within the law,” the statement affirmed. EOCO assured the public that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. #MakeCorruptionUnattractive
