Miracles exist.

I’ve had a similar experience. God prepared me for weeks before, to let go and trust completely. My fiancé, 3 mo before our wedding was hit by a drunk driver, cut from the car and underwent 24 hours of harrowing surgery. Broken (shattered) legs received metal rods, screws and pins, fractured hip, ruptured spleen removed, collapsed lung, facial reconstruction and metal plates. The first day the doctors allowed him to walk unaided, was our wedding day. God is good.
