When I heard UNISON Southwark were hosting a demonstration in support of men using the women’s changing room in a council gym, I was taken aback. Because UNISON - UK's largest union has a 75% female membership across healthcare, education and social care. Sectors where privacy, dignity and safeguarding really do matter. I went along today, hoping to listen - and perhaps speak to a Unison rep, councillor or Southwark Council staff. But I couldn’t get close enough to hear what was being said. I was physically blocked by protesters, Repeatedly abused and sworn at. There were also threats - directed at me and, I believe, two other women who were filming at the time. I do also have footage from the women’s protest - which took place afterwards. Including the amazing Miranda Maya Forstater WRN Heather Binning #RespectMySex 💚🤍💜 SEENinSport Dr Pam Spurr Psychologist & Artist 🟢⚪🟣 and MrMenno 🇳🇱🏳️‍🌈🎶 which I plan to share separately. At the 62nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, a video message from Fatemeh Zahra Sheikh-abadi, a student survivor of the Shajareh Tayebeh school in Minab, was broadcast in the section on "The Right to Education"; a narrative of a child whose only wish was to go to school, learn, and play with her friends.

The objection by the representative of India to Pakistan's mention of Jammu and Kashmir in the Arria Formula meeting was not surprising to us. India, as a party to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, has actually refused to implement the Security Council resolutions on this dispute, and has even refused to cooperate with the United Nations, including the good offices of the Secretary-General, and with all those mechanisms that form part of Chapter VI. As I stated in my statement, Kashmir is an international dispute. It is on the agenda of the Security Council. It was never a part of India, and it is not, and cannot be, part of India — because this was the core question at the heart of these Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose was to determine the status of this territory: whether it wishes to be part of India or Pakistan. That status has not yet been determined, because the resolutions have not been implemented. To assert that Kashmir is a part of India is, in fact, itself a violation of the relevant Security Council resolutions. Please watch my response below to the misleading remarks of the Indian representative

NEW: Former Labour councillor Oliver Steadman has pleaded not guilty to blackmail at Southwark Crown Court in connection with the alleged 'honeytrap' plot targeting men involved in Westminster politics. Mr Steadman was arrested in June 2024 and later charged with one count of blackmailing then Conservative MP William Wragg in order to get the telephone numbers of up to 12 individuals. His trial is due to begin on 4th Oct 2027.
