Villa will look to keep this core together, because anyone we ‘replace’ has to be cheaper than their replacement for a start…. That’s impossible if you pay £30m fees and £150k a week wages. Impossible. They can try & create some room by moving on Guessand, Mings maybe, Barkley

Damian forewarned fans weeks ago we’d be struggling to recruit, regardless of any European qualification/wins. And I believe him. We cannot afford to falter, the pressure is enormous. And this video sums it up perfectly.

Yep, the more I did the harder the summer looks. But I remain very hopeful that come the first game we will be very competitive once again

For me, a lot hinges on if we can have better luck with injuries. SJM will be another year older, ditto OGAW etc. we also have to try to claw some reasonable funds for players like - arguably - TM who might be a player we lose. And, bigger comps = bigger wages. It’s a nightmare.

Yeah we absolutely desperately need everyone fit lol

If we could do five bits of Victor Lindelöf level transfer business across the squad, even I would believe we could be cooking 😂

Last summer was our worst summer for transfers in a decade (two players of any real value were Bizot and Lindelof and they cost £1m between them) and look how it turned out. We'll just have to roll with the punches and see what happens but it's not bleak.

Scaremongering for scaremongering’s sake! Wait & see, then use words like bleak!

Not at all, I’m just trying to articulate how hard this summer will be. Absolutely feel free to dig into the finances and please I beg you tell me I am absolutely wrong and we can spend whatever

Our summer’s gonna be bleak according to who?

Most projections I’m reading and seeing based on the financial situation of the club, the settlement agreement and the fact we can’t buy unless we sell..

Profilbild von Here For Villa 🦁

@utvHarry We have sold though, Enzo and Malen, that’s 35m, Guessand will likely be sold for £28m. That’s before any of the fringe players are sold. I don’t believe it’s as bad as ‘bleak’.

Profilbild von Justin Talks Villa
Justin Talks Villavor 4 Monaten

@utvHarry If you don’t think selling our prize assent “potentially” in Morgan Rogers after finishing 4th qualifying for champions league and winning our first trophy for 30 years is anything other than bleak then I don’t know what to say

Profilbild von Here For Villa 🦁

@utvHarry Having to sell Morgan isn’t new news and something we’re all aware of, so ‘bleak’ to me is anything worse than what we already knew.

Profilbild von Justin Talks Villa

@utvHarry Do you think anyone else will have to sell their prized asset this summer to compete?

“Gravity-defying” is the best way to describe Aston Villa in 2026. Far from being bleak, Villa’s future is bright. Yes, we may have to sell some big names, but we’ll replace them with superb young players who Emery will nurture into the new generation of winners...

Miserable summer? You aware how many players are going to be out the door and that Sancho, Elliott and Malen need replacing? Guessand probably will go, Garcia, Bailey and so on, like cmon. We'll be active after the financial new year

Definitely getting the impression that without substantial sales we won’t be able to either buy or adhere to the sanctions Uwfa have put on us. As atrocious the rules are and how it follows our best season in decades, we will have to sell our star player or end up being in trouble with Uwfa sanctions. Loved the moments that Morgan has brought us in past 2 seasons but he will be off to Arsenal it seems. We will likely get a c£25-£30m player in as a replacement and a couple of squad improvements.

To bring anyone in, we need to sell. To compy with our UEFA agreement, replacements need to be cheaper than what we sell for. So no big spending unless we sell players like Rogers/Watkins/Martinez. Otherwise it's offload fringe players & replace with cheaper/better squad fillers.

@J_Tanswell & @danbardell said recently as far as they are aware no urgent sales are needed to satisfy June 30 and yes we have to sell to buy but I don’t think they were of this opinion….

Profilbild von Justin Talks Villa

@J_Tanswell @danbardell It certainly seems that we are under no pressure to sell assents pre 30th June like the previous two summers, there will be a difficult time after trying to balance the requirements of improving the squad

Unfortunately this is exactly what SCR is designed for , its impossible to challenge at the top unfortunately , season after season forced to sell our best players

If things are this bleak and top4 is the primary target, then break the UEFA agreement if that’s what’s stopping us recruiting as we wish! Just fuck Euro football off for the season 🤷‍♂️ We’ve got the trophy we wanted.

lol, of course we are, you are equating financial power to club potential, if/when we gain parity on those terms then we are capable of going toe to toe with anyone

Its not miserable and nor is villas future, you shouldn't put out negative energy, even if we only released a few players and signed a few frees we still could win and challenge for things, be positive we've just won a cup. We got massive wages because we got great playersalready

I think you are right regarding transfer activity, it’s going to be 1 in 1 out. The Guessand departure as it stands has gone from a definite sale to a perhaps maybe and we are relying 100% on his sale.

I don’t agree with you pal, there is money to spend, even more if Roger’s goes. It’s the wages for Scr we have to comply with. Why Martinez is going

Has anyone actually worked out what the glass ceiling is. What do we need to do to be allowed to compete? Someone said it’s 3 UCL qualifications in a row. Is it a certain amount of revenue we have to hit over a period of time?

Profilbild von Terrytini💤

Not to me.Spurs/Liverpool/Chelsea etc..spent fortunes, as always. Doesn’t make up for having a brilliant coach & great Club structure. Eg Rogers (if leaves) wait & see how average he’ll be elsewhere, yet his replacement will optimistic as I’ve ever been🥳

Profilbild von RJY_72
RJY_72vor 3 Monaten

The problem seems to be that even if we count sales of players, UEFA spreads that out over 3 years so you can’t take a full profit when you sell. What makes me think it can’t be all bad is that we’re touted as keeping someone like Bogarde when we have a ready buyer in Brighton
