Misery (1990) was released on this day 35 years ago.

In the book she chops off one foot with and axe and takes a blow torch to the nub.

Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes is one of the greatest, most terrifying villain performances of all time.

This scene was so horrific as a kid that I've never watched again and I'm now in my 40s. 😬

Thank goodness he recovered to become a book seller in elf!

😘🖤😈

No way a women can swing a sledge hammer that accurately

I watched Misery inside a packed theater a day after it opened. When that scene played, i could hear a collective gasp from the audience. I suspect up to that point, Annie was just deemed odd/annoying, after that brutal scene, she was seen as evil and truly psychotic.

Why is this in Spanish

here it is in English

What she does to him in the novel is even worse

Annie Wilkes was Stephen King's favorite written character, because she was always surprising to write, with unexpected depth and sympathy.

Kathy Bates was incredible in this adaptation🖤 And I can't imagine how horrifically painful that hobbling would be🫣

i love this scene. He's shitting bricks because he knows what gonna happen. He's like. What the fuck. in that voice of his. 😂. in Spanish its sounds funny. i was laughing so hard. Her facial expression as she whacks him . Lmao. LoL. Hahahahaha. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I could not stand the torture in this movie. I hated it.

Best Christmas movie 🍿

One of kathy bates greatest performances! 🙌🙌🙌

I heard the book saws his feet off. I prefer this rewrite.

Kathy Bates is legit insanely terrifying in this.

Book is way more graphic than the film

Brilliant movie - the book is still better though.

I had no idea it was in Spanish🤪

You wait a while for this part as a kid.

Hard to watch It was easier watching him get shot up at the toll booth in The Godfather

@StonksHodl

This movie messed me up as a kid Couldn’t watch ELF the same

Liverpool FC fans this season...we feel your pain! #lfc #nufc

@aemartinezm

Great film, but he shouldn't have said anything bad about Taylor Swift.😆

It's so crazy that 1990 was 35 years ago. Feels like 1 decade ago.

I remember an episode of film riot from like 10 years ago where some amateur filmmakers remade this entire scene for some kind of challenge and it was the first time I saw it. I hadn't seen the actual movie yet lol

10/10 Excelente filme.

The scariest movie ever
