Unlike pitch tracking (Hawk-Eye, Trackman), biomechanics varies team to team, creating a massive gap in how player movement is measured and understood. West Virginia Coach Steve Sabins goes into great detail about the Biomechanics Lab that WVU Baseball has on campus. “For Courtney Semkewyc it was kind of a no brainer… She’s a unicorn - PHD in Biomechanics, that’s a baseball rat, that wants to be in a dugout, and be at practice all day, and grind. You can’t just go create that person or system.”

The answer is no!!! We put too much stock in A Teams, B Teams, C Teams at the youngest levels. It doesn’t matter… find a team that you will play, have a lot of responsibility, and get solid coaching. Take a breath, let the kids play and have fun, while learning how to be competitive, part of a team, disciplined, etc.
