Former Death Row Records security guard James "Mob James" McDonald lashes out during testimony in the Tupac Shakur murder trial and says he doesn’t want to send suspect Duane "Keffe D" Davis to prison. James took the stand on Tuesday (Aug. 18), Day 2 of the trial. However, he made it clear that he was only testifying because he was subpoenaed and should be treated as a hostile witness. At one point, McDonald became so frustrated with Keffe D's attorneys' questioning that he addressed Keffe D directly. "You gon' tell him to stop!" James appeared to blurt out. "Talk to your lawyer, man. This dude is tripping." "I don’t want to send him to prison, even though we don’t like each other," James also told Keffe's attorney. James, a reputed former Blood gang member, was working security for Death Row in Las Vegas on the night Tupac was shot on Sept. 6, 1996. However, he's adamant that he did not see the shooting. Keffe D is charged with murder in connection with Tupac's 30-year-old killing, with investigators saying he provided the gun used to shoot the rap icon in a drive-by near the Las Vegas Strip. As I watched Yahya Sinwar in that drone footage, injured, barely able to move, I couldn’t help but wonder, what was he thinking? Like, what was going through his mind at that particular moment? Did he see that drone coming at him and did he think, I did great? Did he feel proud of the death toll, tens of thousands of his own people that he caused? Did he think, yeah, I’m sitting here, I’m about to be killed in this completely destroyed living room, among the ruins of other homes in Gaza, did he say, yeah, yeah, good on me? Was it that or did he recognize the undeniable truth of his failure? After everything he’s done, some people are trying to hail him as a hero, but we know the truth, we saw it with our own eyes. He lost, and he lost really badly. He was also, we know now, was among the six hostages, Z”L, Hersh, Carmel, Alex, Eden, Ori, and Almog, who were brutally executed as the IDF was closing in on him. In his final moments, did he realize he was about to become another footnote in history, joining the ranks of those who tried and failed to kill the Jewish people in the past?
