A Muslim woman who was fasting was brutally tied up and beaten. When she asked for water, instead of giving her water, she was forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine. On February 25, 2026, during the month of Ramadan, Roshan Khatoon, a resident of Madhubani district in Bihar, was brutally beaten while she was fasting. She later died on March 1. According to the family, Roshan Khatoon had gone to the village head’s house to resolve a dispute, where she was tied to a pole and beaten with sticks. The family claims that when she asked for water while fasting, instead of giving her water, she was forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine. The family alleges that she was targeted because she was a Muslim and that this was done deliberately to humiliate her. Serious questions have also been raised about the role of the police after the incident. The family alleges that instead of taking her to the hospital in an injured condition, she was taken to the police station and a demand of ₹50,000 was made. In the case, 19 accused have been named, but so far only one arrest has been made. The family has accused the Bihar police of not taking the matter seriously and supporting the accused. We were just riding normally when some police officers stopped us. They were not traffic police; they were regular police officers. We were simply riding on the scooter without helmet and just left from our home and had not done anything wrong. They stopped us without giving any reason." This is completely unacceptable. The police treated us very badly and behaved in a rude and disrespectful manner. I have a video of the incident. While our scooter was moving, one of the officers suddenly took the key out of the ignition. This caused us to lose balance. We could have fallen, been seriously injured, and even caused an accident because there was traffic behind us. They did not introduce themselves or properly ask for any documents. Instead, they acted arrogantly, misused their authority, and behaved disrespectfully. They then took our scooter and left us stranded in the middle of the road. We even asked them to do a penalty or challan against our vehicle for helmet violation but they ask for bribe. We had important work to attend, but because of their actions, we were left helpless. This kind of behavior is irresponsible, dangerous, and completely unacceptable

This is how a mob assualted & heckled journalists in Kolkata during the students protest today: While my team was reporting today's protest march called by the left students bodies in Kolkata, a bunch of hoodlums began heckling our reporters. Soon things escalated, water was splashed, kicks and slaps started landing on us. While we tried to move out, the mob chased us. Our reporter's mobile phone was stolen. Even female journalists were heckled badly. We took shelter in a store nearby but the mob gheraoed us. Later, some left volunteers who had organised the rally helped us to get a safe passage. Not everyone who took part in the rally today were students. And surely those indulging in such acts have nothing to do with any form of education. Several Kolkata jounalists have been assualted today and many have sustained injuries. Protests are a hallmark of democracy. But what we witnessed today is pure mob violence by a section of hoodlums in the garb of protest.

New Mexico Trooper ambushed by man he was trying to help with a flat tire. The dashcam footage of Officer Justin Hare’s final moments is a chilling reminder of how quickly trying to help a stranded motorists can quickly turn into a nightmare. Officer Hare pulled over on I-40 to help a stranded motorist with a flat tire. In an act of pure kindness, he offered the man a ride into town. Instead of gratitude, the suspect—Jaremy Smith—pulled a weapon and ambushed the officer through the passenger window. What makes this even more disturbing is the backstory: Smith was already a fugitive from South Carolina, driving a vehicle stolen from a murdered paramedic. Smith proceeded to shove the injured Hare over to the passenger seat and took off with the police cruiser. Shortly down the road he dumped wounded officer Hare on the side of the road and fled. After a massive manhunt and a shootout with deputies in Albuquerque, Smith was finally captured. Just recently went to trial, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. A tragic loss for the New Mexico State Police and the family Officer Hare left behind. Justice has been served, but the cost was far too high.
