Wrapped in bubble wrap but handed a smartphone at age 6. Can’t ride a bike alone, but can change genders without parental consent. Clown world parenting.

Yes!! Parents I know are scandalized that I let my kids 12 and 8, take short trips on public transit, but I’m scandalized that their kids have iPhones and no protective software of any kind on them.

This is so true but also from another angle: Many parents are afraid to let their kid walk to the store, but at the same time give them unrestricted, unsupervised internet access. More predators are online than in your neighborhood. Your kid is more likely to send images of themselves to a stranger online, or get convinced to go meet someon, than get grabbed off the corner.

Teach your child how to do things because no one else is going to. Schools don't teach you how to do your taxes, pay your bills, shave, wear deodorant, cook, take a shower, etc. The most important things are left to the parents. Be a good parent. Teach your child. Prov 22:6.

Interesting take. I think the issue is that many of those claiming to want to protect them either have no concept of what that means, or they use the concept as an excuse to further their own ends.

Raise your own kids the way that you think they should be raised. Forget about the talking heads. 🤣

This is also highlighted in the book “The Anxious Generation” - a great read!

There are many things like this in our society. We are "protected" from the things we don't need protecting from, but we are exposed to the things we shouldn't ever see. The safety of our society is an illusion. The principles of Anarcho-tyranny in the aspects of morality.
