Meanwhile the customer is standing there like “I just wanted a drink.” This is the modern service industry in one clip: Understaffed! Over-monitored! Terrified of metrics! Trained to escalate instead of fix Half-filling a cup is a small mistake. Turning it into a public meltdown is a systems problem. When employees are more scared of managers than they are motivated to do good work, this is what you get. The best operators I’ve seen never needed to scream over a half-full cup. They fixed it, trained better, and moved on.
