Modern men must learn of the old ways

This is true, but it comes with the caveat that women do not want men who lead and teach. Feminism has warped both men's and women's brains into modes of thinking and behavior that do not allow this old ideal to work. I see this all over in Christian culture, men who talk a big game about how they are supposed to be these things, but when you look at their actual life at home none of it bears out. Instead, you find a disordered home life where every decision the husband suggests is met with automatic resistance, if not outright defiance. The modern conservative, Christian home is full of men who are told by well-intentioned marital counselors and seminars (counselors and seminars full of psychology based on Freudian and feminist theory) that their sole function and the reason their marriage is failing is because they don't listen enough, while their wives are told that they aren't being listened to. If I am married to a woman who says she wants me to lead, but makes it pain that she only wants that when it agrees with her notions, that is unhealthy and does not empower me to lead her. If she then is supported by all her friends and seminars that the reason is not because she is stubborn and unsubmissive, but because her husband doesn't listen to her, the result is going to be, eventually a girlfriend instead of a husband. On the other side of this, if a man does not seek to honor and teach his wife, but just demands a performative and transactional relationship, the end result will be a work buddy instead of a wife. The problem with all of it is that we still haven't come to the place of discussing it in a way that supports both husband and wife. We are trapped in a world that prizes female methods and communication. The real problem is that the direction currently is for the pendulum to swing the other way to an extreme form of macho patriarchy that is not biblical and does not work. In summary, I believe this video and one's like it are not particularly helpful in our current world. It uses worn out tropes and pat answers that don't address the reality that most marriages exist within now.
