That, and it also allowed the government and the elites to tax more people, and then brainwash the kids at state-run schools since the woman wasn't there to raise them properly. And when you look at the richest women in the world, the vast majority of them inherited their fortune or won it in a divorce. They were never meant for the workplace, they are overwhelmingly not builders, creators, inventors, etc. Putting them in the workplace was a subversive way to destroy the nuclear family and allow the government to exert greater control over everyone's lives, and it worked. Look at how fucked up and backwards the West is today because of it.
