Honestly, this is heartbreaking. The adults were so caught up in their own fears and accusations that they completely forgot to listen to the one person who actually knew what happened.

This is what happens when fe@r takes over before anyone has the full story. Everyone starts making assumptions, defending their side, and somehow Molly’s own voice gets pushed to the background.

What I don’t understand is why the father was refusing the lady there from examining her…was he afraid of being wrong cos it looks like he wanted it to be true just to justify his actions to the boy.

I think his refusal says more about his state of mind than the situation itself. Once he became convinced of one version of events, accepting information that challenged it would mean admitting that his emotions had taken over. Sometimes people hold onto a belief because admitting they were wrong is harder than facing the truth.
