🗺️🚢 Iran Disputes U.S. Claim of Hormuz Transit, Says Warship Turned Back Under Threat 🔸U.S. vessels attempted a “very high-risk operation” to create the impression the strait is open — “to come through, take a souvenir photo, and say: ‘Hey, I crossed,’” said Nima Akbarkhani, speaking on state media, disputing U.S. claims that two warships, the USS Frank E. Peterson (DDG-121) and USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112), transited the Strait of Hormuz. ▪️ He said the ships used electronic warfare, hugged coastlines, and spoofed their identity as smaller local vessels, at times positioning behind other ships to mask movement. ▪️ “As usual, it pulled every trick in the book,” he said. The vessels do not appear on VesselFinder, Kpler, or MarineTraffic. ▪️ Akbarkhani said Iranian forces tracked the vessel, locked anti-ship cruise missiles onto it, and warned it to turn back within 30 minutes or be struck. ▪️ He added IRGC naval forces saw it as “the best catch we’ve had in a while,” but were held back due to the ceasefire. 🔸His account directly contradicts U.S. Central Command, which said the two destroyers transited into the Persian Gulf and began operations to establish a safe maritime passage and “ensure the strait is fully clear of sea mines.” ▪️ CENTCOM said the mission includes clearing mines allegedly laid by Iran’s IRGC and preparing a route to “encourage the free flow of commerce.” ▪️ Additional U.S. assets, including underwater drones, are expected to join in the coming days. ▪️ USS Frank E. Peterson is part of the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group, while USS Michael Murphy is independently deployed, according to USNI News.

BREAKING: On the order of U.S. President Trump, all ships that have paid tolls to, or have been permitted by, the Islamic regime of Iran to pass through the Strait of Hormuz will be sunk by the U.S. Navy once they attempt to enter or exit the Persian Gulf. For this purpose, two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers of the U.S. Navy—USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112) and USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. (DDG-121)—are now positioned near the Strait of Hormuz and are tasked with confronting any commercial vessel attempting to enter or leave. The Iranian Navy warned these ships when they tried to pass through the Hormuz Strait. #OperationEpicFury #OperationLionsRoar

‼️🇺🇸🇮🇷 Amid rising military buildup in the Middle East due to the high risk of escalation between the United States and Iran, the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group has been deployed to the region. The carrier is operating alongside three Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyers. 1. USS Spruance (DDG-111) This is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer. It provides air defense, anti-surface, and anti-submarine warfare support for the carrier strike group. 2. USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112) Another Arleigh Burke-class destroyer assigned to the Lincoln strike group. It supports the carrier with layered defense, surface warfare and strike capabilities. 3. USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. (DDG-121) This Arleigh Burke-class destroyer is part of the escort group. It often serves as a command and control ship for integrated air and missile defense within the strike group. These destroyers are sailing with USS Abraham Lincoln as part of Carrier Strike Group 3 and have recently arrived in the U.S. Central Command region due to the current situation involving tensions with Iran.
