If you decide to make a quilt for America's 250th anniversary then you'll need to pull your sewing machine out of the garage and if you pull your sewing machine out then you'll need a place to put it and if there's no where to put it then you'll have to kick your 12 y.o. out of his room into the one that's been vacated by his older brothers and turn his room into a sewing/guest/study/quiet place for the new grand baby to nap. In other words you're going to have to recreate Grandma's classic Spare Room. I did that this weekend. It cost me $55, the price of a new floor lamp and a fresh set of sheets for the guest bed. Everything else was pulled from around the house, including the sewing table (which I found free on the side of the road months ago) and the purple chair (which has been the subject of much discussion on here already) and the fishing quilt on the wall which I started in high school and my mom's dear friend completed for me as a wedding gift. But what I really want to tell you about is my old Singer sewing machine and why it's especially significant that I be using it for my new grandson's patriotic quilt in honor of America's 250th. As a child I had the honor of watching my own mom be sworn in as a U.S. citizen. She was a refugee to this country from East Prussia after WW2. Her aunt had come to America many years prior and paid to sponsor my mom's family. Yes, U.S. citizens used to have to voluntarily pay for immigrant relatives to come here so they wouldn't be a burden on the gov't, imagine that. Anyway, my great-aunt Emma did that for my mom's family by being a seamstress. She worked for a famous dressmaker in Pasadena and she was very good. My mom's family lived with Aunt Emma till my grandpa was able to find work and support them. During that time she taught my mom how to sew. On this very machine! My mom sewed every blanket, pillow, and curtain in our house growing up. She sewed all the dresses for herself and us girls. She eventually upgraded to a fancier modern machine, but she taught me the basics (just the basics) on this one and passed it on to me. It still works, as was once typical for stuff made in the U.S.A. Here’s to America! And to quilts! And to classic Granny Spare Rooms! But most of all here’s to grandbabies and cozy places to tuck them in.

I can't believe some of the comments/messages saying "you drew yourself like a child to attract creeps" so I traced over my own irl body to show you. Anime characters usually have bigger heads than normal humans, so the only difference here is the character's head that is just slightly bigger. The photo is from 2023, when i was 23. My hair was shorter and straightened so it isn't as poofy. The drawing was "when i wake up" themed so I drew my bed hair. I have curly hair, so my hair gets really frizzy unless I use a lot of products which I don't when I'm at home. I also would like to say that no, I am NOT trying to attract anyone, I am married and I do not draw any lewd content about myself or my persona. I am just short and skinny, I have tried to gain weight for years but I can't due to a chronic disease. And the duck printed pajamas, the short, the tank top, even the hairtie I drew are things I own and wear the most when I'm at home. The pajama set was actually a birthday gift cause my favorite color is yellow. I'm just really disappointed. Women like me exist, I have friends and family who are even smaller than me, my mom's aunt is 140cm. My teacher in uni was 142cm. Not everyone is tall and curvy. I wished I was talled so many times and I got bullied enough for having a "child-like" figure irl. I hope this clears any misunderstanding that might've been caused.

This is what happens when you refuse chemo for your child. This video was recorded in 2019. This is so heartbreaking! I am in tears watching this young lady. The medical gestapo is out of control. They didn't like the fact that their poison (chemo) was not working and Mom's holistic medicine was. Chemo is a big money maker for these Doctors, hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry. How can you take a sick child away from the one person in the world that would die for you? The one person you run to when you're not feeling well? Is this America? How can they force these medical procedures on a sick child who isn't getting better, only sicker? We can't allow these money hungry Doctors, DHS and the corrupted medical establishment to get away with this!! Share, please. "DHS has been involved a month after I went home with Kylee. She's been doing amazing and was able to walk, talk again, the brain damage we were told she would have, the natural meds have been able to reverse and restore allot of the damage. " "They want to take me to court to take my daughter that is almost 100% healthy again, and give her back to an oncology unit at the hospital so they can continue chemotherapy treatment and whatever I'll see if they want to test on her as she has a very rare type of tumor, that will eventually kill her!!. " "With 10% left of her tumor I know the natural regimens I have on can destroy the remainder of that tumor. I have all the CT scans for the last six months to prove it's done exactly that! DHS did not notify me until this morning 3/26/2019 at 11am to let me know that we have court at 1:30PM today, tell me if this was you as a parent, what would you do as a parent knowing everything you seen,?? knowing all those innocent lives that died from chemo in those 6 months of being there!!!" " I can't just hand her back over to them!!! Look at the pictures, she's doing amazing, the last CT scan showed 10 to 15% left of the tumor and no other cancer in her body.. PLEASE spread this story as I don't know what the outcome will be!!! I will include a picture of the text from DHS to show how cruel they are!" " I REALLY NEED HELP WITH LEGAL REPRESENTATION - thank you for your love and support. God bless!! " Love, Christine and Kylee Gale
