INNO MOROLONG ON HOUSE ARREST Court Ruling: Sentencing of the Accused in Criminal Injuria Case On the 29 January 2025 Inno Morolong has been sentenced under counts 1 and 2 The following are the judgements which have been implemented: A 12-month direct imprisonment sentence, wholly suspended for five years, on the condition that: The accused is not convicted of the offense of crimen injuria during the period of suspension. The accused submits to correctional supervision under Section 276(1) (h) of the Criminal Procedure Act for a period of 12 months. House Arrest Conditions The accused will be under house arrest for the full 12-month duration of correctional supervision, from 18:00 to 06:00 on non-working days. House arrest exclusions apply for community service, treatment programs, religious activities, hospitalizations, or medical consultations. Community Service & Rehabilitation: The accused is required to perform a minimum of 16 hours of community service per month, without compensation. The accused must attend life skills programs as part of the rehabilitation process. Restrictions & Monitoring: The accused is restricted from leaving the magisterial jurisdiction of their residence unless authorized by the Commissioner. The accused must refrain from alcohol and drug abuse throughout the sentence. Regular monitoring will be conducted by the Commissioner of National Correctional Services.
