A former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement lawyer who was responsible for training new deportation officers warned lawmakers on Monday that the ICE training program is “deficient, defective and broken." Ryan Schwank testified in a forum held by Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Rep. Robert Garcia. “I am here because I am duty-bound to report the legally required training program at the ICE academy is deficient, defective and broken,” Schwank said. He testified that he had volunteered to take on an assignment in Georgia training new, inexperienced recruits. “On my first day, I received secretive orders to teach new cadets to violate the Constitution by entering homes without a judicial warrant. For the last five months, I watched ICE dismantle the training program, cutting 240 hours of vital classes from a 584-hour program,” he said. The Trump administration has worked to recruit, train and deploy new immigration officers at a rapid pace. ICE announced in January that it had hired more than 12,000 new officers in the past year, more than doubling its force. The recent fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens by immigration enforcement officers, as well as allegations of excessive force used against both immigrants and protesters, prompted Democrats to demand new negotiations over Department of Homeland Security funding and ICE tactics. Congress is still at a stalemate over any funding deal for DHS, as the partial government shutdown drags on.

Cofounder of NuroAI A is making an AI that can drive vehicles, was winning me over through demonstrations of his more flexible AI than Tesla has demonstrated. Drove in left-hand Japan with no prior training on such. Learned by decomposing the road into all of its parts. So figured out that you needed to drive in the left instantly. But then he said LiDAR is demonstrating itself to be safer. So I stuck up my hand and asked for a situation where LiDAR and camera is safer than camera only approaches, which his company sells too. “A child all in black at night, particularly around a corner.” So tonight after I drove my friend home at 2:30 a.m. I studied this in deep detail in my wife’s Model Y with hardware 4 and Tesla Self Driving controlling the car. 1. Cameras can see far more than humans can at night. 2. Modern cars come with matrix headlights. Which go around the turn and illuminate anywhere a car can turn. 3. Every intersection has a light on almost every intersection. Where there is none why would a child in black be playing on the street in the dark. 4. Tesla has a “zoomed in” telephoto camera as one of the cameras under the windshield so it can actually see ahead far better than a human can. Plus the other night this car drove around a clump of dirt and rocks on the road at 50 mph. I didn’t even see it until the car had already quickly turned around it. I give you his speech here. But you gotta come up with better examples of why a car company needs to spend “low thousands” (his quote, not mine) per car more on LiDARs than that.

After a decade of building Broadlume and a year since joining forces with Cyncly, today is my last day. It's emotional, but it's the start of the next chapter. Here's the message I sent my team: I knew this day would eventually come, but now that it's here, it's surreal. As I wrote (and rewrote) this email a hundred times, it was hard not to get emotional. There's no way for me to properly put my thoughts into words… but here we go. There are so many people to thank and so many amazing memories. I am truly grateful for every single person who played a part in this 10+ year journey. For 10 years, I never had the Sunday Scaries or dreaded a single Monday.. not one. I woke up wanting to find out what problems we'd solve together and what milestones we'd celebrate. That feeling is what people spend entire careers searching for. And I got to live it for a decade, thanks to you. Every Monday morning felt like a reunion with friends, not work. I got to wake up and do what I loved, with people I loved working with. But beyond that, the work we did changed an industry. We fought for the small business owner, and that's something I'm incredibly proud of. Our work impacted 4,500 mom and pop flooring retailers across the country. They will forever operate differently because of us, and they'll continue to be taken care of by this incredible team long after I'm gone. We proved that when you take care of your team and treat customers like family, everyone wins. That's the legacy we built together, and one worth being proud of. Now, what comes next for me? I'm going to spend time with my family. Believe it or not, when you give your personal cell phone number out to the entire flooring industry, hours and days can slip away pretty quickly. I want to be present with my wife and two young daughters. My oldest daughter, Amelia, is two and a half, and her world runs on questions. Her favorite: "But why, Daddy?" And I can't wait for the day she asks, "but why did you name me Amelia?" And I'll get to tell her about FloorCon and how our final show was in Amelia Island, FL, right around the time she was born. My youngest, Charlotte, is just three months old. She doesn't know anything about flooring… yet. But I'm excited to explain to her why hardwood is better than LVP, and why she always needs to shop local. And lastly, my wife Jill has been the most patient, supportive, and understanding partner during this journey. I'm excited to just focus on being a dad, husband, and bad golfer for a bit. Working with you was the greatest honor of my professional life. The actual daily experience of being in the trenches, and doing the work together, is what I will always remember. Thank you for trusting me when I didn't know what I was doing. Thank you for following me into uncertainty. And thank you for making Monday, the best day. With love.

Here's the message I sent my team: I knew this day would eventually come, but now that it's here, it's surreal. As I wrote (and rewrote) this email a hundred times, it was hard not to get emotional. There's no way for me to properly put my thoughts into words… but here we go. There are so many people to thank and so many amazing memories. I am truly grateful for every single person who played a part in this 10+ year journey. For 10 years, I never had the Sunday Scaries or dreaded a single Monday.. not one. I woke up wanting to find out what problems we'd solve together and what milestones we'd celebrate. That feeling is what people spend entire careers searching for. And I got to live it for a decade, thanks to you. Every Monday morning felt like a reunion with friends, not work. I got to wake up and do what I loved, with people I loved working with. But beyond that, the work we did changed an industry. We fought for the small business owner, and that's something I'm incredibly proud of. Our work impacted 4,500 mom and pop flooring retailers across the country. They will forever operate differently because of us, and they'll continue to be taken care of by this incredible team long after I'm gone. We proved that when you take care of your team and treat customers like family, everyone wins. That's the legacy we built together, and one worth being proud of. Now, what comes next for me? I'm going to spend time with my family. Believe it or not, when you give your personal cell phone number out to the entire flooring industry, hours and days can slip away pretty quickly. I want to be present with my wife and two young daughters. My oldest daughter, Amelia, is two and a half, and her world runs on questions. Her favorite: "But why, Daddy?" And I can't wait for the day she asks, "but why did you name me Amelia?" And I'll get to tell her about FloorCon and how our final show was in Amelia Island, FL, right around the time she was born. My youngest, Charlotte, is just three months old. She doesn't know anything about flooring… yet. But I'm excited to explain to her why hardwood is better than LVP, and why she always needs to shop local. And lastly, my wife Jill has been the most patient, supportive, and understanding partner during this journey. I'm excited to just focus on being a dad, husband, and bad golfer for a bit. Working with you was the greatest honor of my professional life. The actual daily experience of being in the trenches, and doing the work together, is what I will always remember. Thank you for trusting me when I didn't know what I was doing. Thank you for following me into uncertainty. And thank you for making Monday, the best day. With love.

On July 8th YouTube gave me a content warning for the clip below. Where I react to a vtuber clip. In which I made a double entendre joke about filling her hole. Made in context of a game where she was filling dirt hole. I appealed this and was denied, and then denied via email again when my team contacted YouTube support. This is absurd, so many people have made much more explicit sexual jokes on YouTube and not been hit with strikes or warnings. Nor should they have been. TeamYouTube the fact that this video was removed completely and not even just set to being 18 plus suggest that in YouTube’s view, this joke is not even suitable for adults. That it went far beyond the pale. And the idea that an adult would fine this harmless double entendre, in context with a literal hole, offensive is absurd. Additionally as this was a joke it is allowed under the content guidelines. “Usage of sexual jokes and innuendos (such as mimicking sex acts in a humorous way) that does not use vulgar or obscene terms (such as music lyrics referencing sexual tension).” My only theories as to why this was flagged was the word “hole” despite the context of a video where a literal dirt hole was being filled, is considered a vulgar or obscene term not fit for YouTube. Or that because the video was zoomed in on me when I said the word “hole” and there was no hole on screen for half a second meant that some ai assumed there was no context in the video and no one checking this video afterwards watched half a second before the zoom to check for context. YouTube I am asking you to remove the warning on my account, and even if full monetization cannot be restored on the video, at least it should be republished and restricted to 18 plus viewers. There is no way that any reasonable human could watch this clip, and see it as overly sexual. Nor do I believe you want to make creators afraid to say the word hole in fear it could be taken as a sexual joke by some ai. This is not even about making people worried about using explicit terms or making direct sexual jokes. This is a double entendre. Nothing more intense than something would say “that’s what she said” in reply to. Please YouTube, correct your mistake. YouTubeCreators (not sure which accounts I should @ so that last one is just incase) —————————- To all those reading this, please help push this, help my voice be heard. Make them fix their mistake.
