For anyone who doesn't know, "the news about Monero's ring signatures" that @yrschrade mentions is referencing the recently revealed MAP Decoder Attack. This attack effectively reduces XMR ring size to 4.2. When combined with flood attacks, this can further reduce ring size to between 1 and 2. This means an XMR sender would be hiding between themself and a fraction of another person! 😱 tldr: Monero's privacy is broken. Don't use it if you're a high risk user and want to avoid prison.
