Welcome to Atwea Mountains, a Christian Prayer camp in the Ashanti Region, a few minutes drive from Effiduase. It is believed that God answers prayers quickly on the mountain. Withing 5 minutes on the mountain all your prayer requests would be answered. Mpaebɔ mu tatahwe, ɛyɛ pahyew. The mountain has a lot of camps from camp 1, 2, 3, 5 to the very last camp. Most churches in Ghana have their camps there. As Jesus said in Mathew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”, I also say to you, take all your problems and burdens to Atwea Mountains and make your request known and Jesus will be there to answer you. Two men watched travel vloggers camping in the mountains and decided to try it themselves. With no proper experience, they bought a camping tent from Decathlon, assuming it would be reliable, and headed to the mountains. But heavy rain soon started, the tent began leaking from everywhere, and both men were completely soaked. They had to spend the entire night shivering in the cold inside the leaking tent. We are not the major emitters, but we are facing the challenges caused by the emitters. Forums and summits like this provide a platform to raise our voice, share our issues, and collaborate with countries facing similar challenges from climate change. This also enables South-South collaboration. The platform not only provides opportunities for cooperation but also allows for the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and research outcomes. In this way, it provides a good opportunity for us to share our concerns." He adds, "Regarding the mountain agenda, we share the Hindu Kush mountain range. Previously, this was not a major agenda item even in global forums, but recently, the mountain agenda has become a priority. In Nepal, we are focusing on this because we have some of the tallest mountains in the world — even the top 10 to top 14 peaks are in Nepal. We are greatly concerned that these mountains and glaciers are melting. As they melt, the effects are not limited to Nepal but also impact downstream countries, coastal areas, and oceans. There is now a critical need for a mountain-to-ocean approach, which requires a multilateral response to address these issues. This is how forums like this are helpful."
