check this Matthew 6:7. ESV "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. NIV And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

The Jesus Prayer had changed my life forever I highly recommend using this for daily meditation with the Lord

Lord's Prayer did this for me. It is very quiet in my mind.

In the Orthodox Church, some Great Schema Monks take a vow (I forgot how its name), that they shall never speak ever again, as to not disturb the inner prayer. Complete and total dedication to God. In Romania, Great Schema Monks are often called "The Great Angelic Face".

Even monks, who've called on Jesus for years are ignored. I was a Christian reaching for the hem of Jesus' garment and grasped ODIN's hand instead, found the Gods are real persons.
