The SEC’s response was classic bureaucracy: Fine the school half the football budget. Suspend the head coach for half a season. A judge said no. These kids were told they were done. Then the NCAA changed the rules for everyone AFTER them and left this class hanging. Courts keep saying that was wrong. College football is no longer run by the NCAA. It’s run by judges in Baton Rouge. Kiffin’s just doing what every other coach would do if they had the guts. Play the kids. Or watch them play somewhere else.

Here is have none other than Clint Eastwood singing the Lerner and Loewe tune “I Talk to the Trees”. The film is the musical western “Paint Your Wagon” (1969). It also stars Lee Marvin and Jean Seberg. Released at a time when musicals were rapidly going out of fashion, this movie was notoriously over budget and behind schedule, opening to mostly negative reviews. It was not the huge box-office success that the producers had hoped it would be. Eastwood’s experiences on this movie inspired him to form his own production company, Malpaso, saying that working on this movie had shown him how not to make a movie.
