English Translation Of Abdullah Khudhairy All our preparations, setting up the equipment, and running the devices are complete. We rely on them and their efficiency, and, God willing, we will be moving shortly to the observation site. May Allah make it easy. It is clear that today's weather conditions will not be favorable for sighting the crescent moon with the naked eye due to cloud cover. Of course, there are clouds, and in reality, we call them intermittent clouds. A short while ago, a group of colleagues and observers saw the planet Venus. We hope that, by Allah’s will, there will be clear skies at the observation site so we can sight the crescent moon. Its position today is favorable for observation and gives us a good chance, provided these clouds do not persist. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If it is obscured from you, then complete the month as thirty days." Our responsibility at the astronomical observatory is to report our findings. If we see the crescent, we inform the relevant authorities. If we do not see it, we also report that no sighting was made. They are responsible for the rest of the decisions. If the crescent moon is sighted, what is the procedure, Abu Fadi? The first step is to document the sighting in an official report, recording each observer's details, the method of sighting, the shape of the crescent, its position relative to the sun, and its altitude.
