In April 2003, Aron Ralston recorded this video after becoming trapped in Bluejohn Canyon, Utah. His arm was pinned by a boulder, leading him to believe he faced certain death. However, he purposely broke the bones in his wrist and used a knife to amputate his arm, a decision that ultimately saved his life.
