I am calling upon every college and university to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which recognizes that Anti-Zionism is or can be a form of antisemitism. If you’re targeting a Jewish institution, like Hillel, simply for being Jewish, you’re guilty of antisemitism. If you’re making antisemitic threats or tropes that substitute the word ‘Zionist’ for ‘Jew’, you’re guilty of both Anti-Zionism and antisemitism.

Anti-Zionism IS antisemitism. It started as anti-Judaism, morphed into antisemitism and is now being calling anti-Zionism, but these things are the same. 95% of Jews will tell you the same thing. Please don’t tell us otherwise, when we’re the ones being persecuted because of this hate. Stop the BS and call it what it is. And if you actually care, maybe speak up against it for your Jewish brothers and sisters.

This video of Corbyn being confronted at a Your Party meeting for not being anti Zionist enough is quite something, exasperated he says "I'm fed up with being painted into a corner of being seen as a pro Zionist" then says "what do you think I've been doing with my life?" only to be met with "it was under your leadership the IHRA definition of antisemitism was adopted, you condemn the resistance in Palestine, you haven't called for one unitary state..."

For Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas, antisemitism was the worst thing. This is odd… Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about antisemitism and said there were no credible threats and pivoted to talking about anti-Muslim/anti-Arab hate. It’s not an issue that she talked about Muslims and Arabs, rather that she seemingly dismissed antisemitism threats. In the clip on the right from July, she talked about the White House plan to combat antisemitism.

Despite what my detractors say, I have endeavoured to be balanced and consistent in my messaging on Ireland and our problem with antisemitism and anti-Israel bias. These have always been my three main points: 1. The label that Ireland holds as ‘the most antisemitic country in Europe’ is a reductive one and not accurate on certain metrics, specifically with respect to physical violence. 2. We have not reckoned with our history of antisemitism and the denial of the scale of the issue here (and even sometimes its very existence) is what makes it difficult to combat. This denial emboldens antisemitism in Ireland further and only serves to make our problem significantly more apparent on an international stage. 3. Irish antisemitism is institutional. To deny it at this stage is folly. This week alone an open Hamas supporter spoke at a protest vigil organised by National Union of Journalist (NUJ) members and the Dublin Broadcasting branch. Both our political and media establishments are entrenched in anti-Israel bias and have a significant antisemitism problem. Please watch below from my first public speech on this subject back in April. I’ll always defend Ireland against sensationalised claims, but will nonetheless never be silenced on the fact that we do have an antisemitism problem and we are long overdue a reckoning for it.
