Iowa farmers are having a tough time keeping ahead of the weeds between the rain and the wind. This field (seed corn history) is waiting for dry enough conditions to spray. Some of these waterhemp are not terribly tall but have upward of 150 leaves and significant branching.

Don’t use isopropyl alcohol on PEI sheets. Apply a thin layer of liquid (not white!) glue to a new sheet, then spray with distilled water and distribute with a $1 foam brush every few prints. Over many thousands of print hours, this is by far the most effective.

This is what we call strip tilling. We literally only disturb the ground where the rows of crop will be planted. There is a trash whipper to move the previous crop residue and then the shank goes in the ground approximately 8 inches deep and places the fertilizer at whatever depth you prefer. The wavie discs are slightly angled to fill the void from the shank and a packer wheel to pack it all.
