“I guess this is what they call a mid life crisis. But to me the crisis was the 9 years that I was really unhappy." Bookmark this video—it's long but worth watching. It's the personal story of an MIT educated neurosurgeon who dedicated his life to his profession... only to realize that he was sold a lie. He realized that for most of his patients surgery didn't help and in fact it often made their problems worse. Over time he observed that the patients who improved did it through lifestyle. This is true in every field of medicine. Our system is broken and has lost sight of a fundamental truth: For most illness (not all, but most) the best medicine is exercise, nutrition, belonging, sunshine, nature, peace.
