WOW: A Michigan couple is accused of hiring more than 200 illegal aliens to work for their national plumbing business, housing them at run-down motels and houses while raking in $74M in revenue. According to the Department of Justice, Moises Orduna-Rios and Raquel Orduna-Rios, owners of Orduna Plumbing, are accused of running a large-scale operation that knowingly employed and exploited illegal aliens from January 2022 through December 2024. Of the approximately 253 workers hired during that period, only six were legally authorized to work in the United States. The defendants allegedly confiscated the workers’ passports and housed them in overcrowded, substandard residences and hotel rooms. Between January 2022 and August 2025, the company generated roughly $74M in revenue while systematically paying hundreds of unauthorized workers through multiple bank accounts they controlled. During the investigation, federal agents arrested 23 illegal aliens employed by the company at job sites in Buffalo and Rochester, New York, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Communications uncovered in the probe show Moises Orduna-Rios sent the following text on February 1, 2025 stating: “Gentlemen, with all the controversy that is going on, its better to get ready, drive the speed limit, limit yourselves going to the store, only do minimal running of errands, and do not have any gatherings such as barbeques…” A search of one Rochester stash house in the summer of 2025 revealed nine illegally present individuals living in a small, sparsely furnished home.

HE WAS FREE FOR LESS THAN 24 HOURS… AND THE CLOCK WAS ALREADY TICKING. SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE WHEN A REPEAT OFFENDER IS RELEASED AND IMMEDIATELY REOFFENDS? In Baton Rouge, police had barely finished releasing surveillance photos before the public stepped in. Within hours, 22-year-old Jeremiah Taylor was identified and tracked down as the suspect. But this wasn’t the first time his name had surfaced. Taylor had previously been accused of drugging and r*ping another woman twice in August of 2024. At the time, he had just been released from jail on earlier burglary charges. The allegations sent shockwaves through the community, but the case would later take a controversial turn. On January 13, 2026, the charges against him were dropped, and Taylor walked out of jail a free man. Freedom didn’t last long. According to reports, only hours after being released, Taylor allegedly violated a protective order by returning to the very victim’s home who had accused him in the earlier case. The move raised serious questions about safety, accountability, and how quickly the system can unravel. Then came the surveillance photos. Police released images connected to a new investigation, and the public quickly recognized the man in them. Within hours, tips flooded in identifying Taylor. Less than two months after walking out of jail, he’s now back behind bars. The case has reignited a fierce debate about protective orders, dropped charges, and whether the justice system is doing enough to prevent repeat offenders from slipping through the cracks. AT WHAT POINT DO AUTHORITIES DECIDE SOMEONE IS TOO DANGEROUS TO KEEP RELEASING?

a few days late to the party, but 2024 took a few days to reflect on. honestly, i couldn’t decide in a knee jerk how to round it up, but here’s a few things i’ve landed on and want to share in the name of navigating growing up together on here. i spent majority of this year wildly uncomfortable. part of it intentional, knowing real growth and creativity (maybe even freedom) comes from pushing myself out of my comfort zone. i took the most time off the road that i have in 10 years, and had to rewire my brain to not operate from a place of scarcity from that. then sat in the space to try new things, then actually made the jump and did them. shaking in my boots then learning im more capable than i give myself credit for. and checking a few things off the bucket list along the way (see you in arenas and the big red seat in the next month 🤍) uncomfortable getting a year deeper into my 30’s and the self reflection, accountability, and ‘holy shit i’m a real adult now’ epiphanies it demands. *panicking*…then breathing and talking through it. finding deeper gratitude for friendships and therapy. and good skincare. and sleep. uncomfortable in challenging myself to chill with the death grip on fear and settle into a new pace and level of steady love. not dashing during dust storms and enjoying the view even more when it settles. taking a magnifying glass to past patterns, and valuing, even protecting its place in my life. uncomfortable in the juggle of wanting more and wanting less, being the girl on stage and a dog mom, some days feeling new still and others spent precautionary plotting when the glitter won’t be as glittery. so i guess my goal for the year ahead is to try to find some comfort? in the loud and quiet, public and private moments. to still push and seek and want, but find comfort in being uncomfortable. don’t get me wrong, i love a little chaos. i just wonder how it pairs with a little more peace. AND WITH THAT THE 2024 SEASON COM- just kidding. cheers and happy new year let’s vibe.

Shifting focus to 2025, RHP Tyler Bremner (UC Santa Barbara Baseball) is one of my favorite College arms in the class. As a freshman, Bremner split time between the bullpen and the rotation and pitched his way to a modest 5.37 ERA with an impressive strikeout-to-walk ratio of 80-to-17 across 55.1 innings. Bremner has a lean, athletic build at 6'2" and 180-lbs. He has room to fill out physically and as he does, his already-electric stuff will only tick up. Bremner has a low maintenance, under control operation with present arm speed. He attacks hitters from a high-three quarter slot and his fastball sits in the 93-96 range and tops out at 98. It has elite riding life (averaged over 21" of IVB in '23) and is most effective when located in the top-half of the zone. Between its velocity and shape, it is a 60-grade offering. He boasts two quality secondary offerings in a mid-80s changeup and low-80s slider. Bremner’s changeup is the more polished of the two, but his sweeping slider has plus potential. In 2023, Bremner’s changeup generated an impressive 48% miss rate. He has advanced feel for the offering, and he will throw it to both left and righthanded hitters. It plays well off his mid-90s fastball and flashes big time late tumbling life and some fade to the arm side. Bremner threw his slider just 12% of the time in 2023, but it has the chance to be a true out pitch in the future. It features ample late sweeping life as well as some depth, and is a real weapon especially against righthanded hitters. It has reportedly taken a step forward this fall and could be a lethal offering in 2024. Between his plus control, low effort delivery, and the chance to have three plus or better pitches, Bremner profiles as a starter professionally. He has a chance to become a household name this spring and with two strong seasons pitching in the rotation, Bremner has 1st Round upside in 2025. (📽️: UC Santa Barbara Baseball)

In 2024, Russia faced a 13-year record jump in gas prices after a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on refineries that caused fuel production to collapse by more than 10% in the first half of the year. According to Rosstat, from the beginning of the year to December 23, gasoline prices rose by 11% on average in Russia. At the same time, prices in remote regions of the Far East exceeded the Russian average by a quarter. By the end of the year, gasoline price growth will be the strongest since 2011. For the first time in 6 years, gasoline prices have risen significantly above the headline inflation rate, which the Russian ministry of economic development estimates at 9.7% a week before the end of the year. This year, the Russian government tried to curb gasoline prices by banning its exports: the restrictions were imposed shortly after two dozen major Russian refineries were attacked by Ukrainian UAVs and a number of them were forced to halt production. By the end of May, the decline in gasoline production in Russia reached 20% compared to December 2023, and diesel fuel - 11%. In response, the authorities classified fuel output statistics, citing geopolitics and the threat of market manipulation as reasons. In 2025, gasoline will continue to rise in price in Russia. In the best-case scenario, it will rise by 10-15%, and in the worst case - 20%, which, according to Rosstat, has not happened in Russia since 2004 (when the cost of fuel jumped by a record 31.3%). The reason will be an increase in Transneft's pipeline pumping tariffs, as well as a sharp increase in excise taxes: they will rise 14% for gasoline and 16% for diesel fuel, which is three times more than was provided for in the Tax Code (4.7%). According to government calculations, this will bring 170 billion rubles ($1,6 billion) to the treasury, of which 116 billion ($1,13 billion) will be due to the unscheduled increase. Rising gasoline prices will automatically lead to higher prices for everything else in Russia, as the cost of fuel is included in the delivery of all goods and automatically increases the cost of the end product for the buyer. Inflation in Russia will also increase.

🚨 MERCEDES JUST PUT A MOTOR ONLY 8 CM THICK INTO A CAR THAT CAN HIT 62 MPH IN 2.1 SECONDS. Instead of conventional radial flux motors, Mercedes is betting big on axial flux technology. In these motors, the electromagnetic force flows parallel to the axle, allowing two magnetic rotors to sandwich a central stator in a flat, disc-like layout. The result is dramatically smaller and more powerful. The front motor in the new all-electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupe is just 9 cm wide. The rear motors are even thinner at roughly 8 cm each. Despite their tiny size, they help launch the heavy performance car from 0-62 mph in just 2.1 seconds, with a top speed of up to 186 mph. Why this matters: • Axial flux motors are significantly more power-dense and can be up to 50% lighter than traditional designs • Their extreme thinness frees up packaging space in the vehicle for better weight distribution, aerodynamics, or interior room • Mercedes acquired YASA in 2021 and has spent years developing the complex manufacturing processes needed to build them at scale • The technology is debuting in a high-performance AMG model, showing Mercedes is serious about using it in its most demanding cars The deeper implication: While most of the EV conversation focuses on batteries and software, the electric motor itself is undergoing a quiet revolution. Axial flux designs have long been seen as theoretically superior but extremely difficult to manufacture at scale. By solving the production challenges and putting these motors into a real high-performance car, Mercedes is pushing the entire industry forward. The next generation of electric performance cars may not just have bigger batteries they may have fundamentally better motors. We’re watching the physical hardware of EVs evolve as dramatically as the software has. How important do you think motor technology (rather than just battery size) will be for the future of electric performance cars? Follow for more frontier automotive engineering and electric vehicle technology.

Beaten to Death Outside Midtown Shelter: Migrant Man Killed in Brutal Robbery, Two Arrested :Exclusive A violent robbery outside a homeless shelter in Midtown Manhattan has now been reclassified as a homicide, according to sources. Investigators say 36-year-old migrant Santiago Ajsac Sirin was beaten to death outside the shelter where he was living. The incident was initially investigated as an assault but was upgraded after Sirin succumbed to his injuries. Police have arrested two men in connection with the fatal attack: Lavel Boddie, 32, of Brooklyn, and Fritzgens Delia, 32, of Manhattan. Sources state that one suspect lived in the same shelter as the victim, while the other was staying at a different homeless shelter in Brooklyn. Authorities believe the pair targeted Sirin in a robbery that escalated into a deadly beating. It remains unclear if Sirin and Delia knew each other personally from the shelter system, though sources confirm they both lived at the same facility at some point. According to sources, Delia has been in and out of the city’s shelter system for years. He reportedly had a long shelter stay beginning in December 2019, left in August 2023, and returned in July 2024. Boddie had been staying at the Kingsboro STAR shelter for approximately three months, from June 2025 through September 2025. The killing comes as homeless shelters across New York City continue to face ongoing issues with violence, drugs, and other illicit activity, according to residents and sources familiar with conditions inside the system. The investigation remains ongoing. By Leeroy Johnson For licensing email [email protected]
