Most exchanges move execution offchain for performance. We are removing that compromise.

The trade off between speed and decentralization has been the bottleneck for way too long. Finally seeing some builders take the hard path to move execution onchain without sacrificing that performance is refreshing. It is a massive technical challenge but if the team pulls it off it changes the entire narrative around what is possible in a trustless environment. Definitely keeping a close eye on the development roadmap for this because the architecture shift alone is worth the wait.

Fully onchain matching at that speed is the hard problem. Love seeing a team actually go after it instead of papering over it with an offchain engine.

Finally moving away from the bottleneck of offchain layers is the only way forward

The speed with Hideki is too fast!

Keeping execution onchain while maintaining performance is exactly where Somnia’s infrastructure becomes especially interesting for real time trading applications today.

It would be great to have the option to trade directly from one's own wallet rather than an additional internal one. That involves risks. If something were to happen—a hack, for instance—how would compensation be handled?
