What are the metrics behind these rankings? In January of 1961, The Beatles were playing local gigs in Liverpool, yet somehow they were the 5th most popular band... where, exactly? And what do these numbers mean? The Beatles were 7,272,968 what?

There’s no way Pink Floyd were outselling The Beatles in ‘67

yea this list is way off with dates nirvana hadn’t even released an album in 1988

Radiohead 1987 LOL Creep their debut single was 1992. The Beatles 1961 Pink Floyd 1965 Oasis 1992 etc.

Oasis weren’t selling records in 1991. They didn’t get signed until 1993… First single released in 1994.

The tornados eh? chili peppers were not the biggest band in the world in 1988--U2 was not the biggest in 1981------someone is having a laugh.

Linkin Park has been dominant since January 2003.

There’s gotta be a mistake. Why Nirvana is not there?

Van Halen in 73?

The strokes are nowhere on this

list is totally wrong, oasis and radiohead both appearing - in cases - years before releasing anything

How do you measure that? Pink Floyd was never more popular than The Beatles in the sixties.

@grok Why would Smashing Pumpkins be listed with 6 million anything in December 1989?

Oasis didn’t release an album until 1994

this data has to be off because yes didnt take off until later in 1970 with their 3rd album, and they hadn't even released any music until late 1969 so i dont know how theyd be in the millions in q1 of 69

Sorry but what do the numbers at the far right of each line stand for? 🤔

genuinely how is this being counted

How could Radiohead have been one of the most popular bands in the world in 1987 when their first album did not even come out until 1993? U2 was one of the most popular global bands in 1978? Their first album was released in 1980. Soundgarden in 1988? Debut sales were poor.

Linkin Park? WTF?

Love how Radiohead emerge on this list six years before their first album 🙄

Led Zeppelin best Rock Band of the 70s. The new Beatles. They destroy Beatles in their Prime, while 1968-1970.

What do the numbers reflect?

Me looking to “Nirvana” on 94

not the right Highwaymen in the 60s

I didn’t see The Clash on there at all… something’s off

This list has so many errors in it that it should not simply be revised but taken down.

C'est sympa votre truc mais je voudrais bien qu'on m'explique comment Radiohead peut, en 1987, entrer dans ce classement, alors que leur 1er album date de 1994 et leur 1er EP date de 1992 ?

Es más fake esto

No KISS in the 70’s yeah right

Mettalica

A lot of this is WAY off. Bon Jovi was absolutely not the biggest band in the world at any point in 2010 lol. Radiohead and Imagine Dragons were nobodies until their respective big years of 1993 and 2012. Tool was never globally appreciated in mainstream music.

Van Halen n'existait pas en 1974

This is wrong. You're telling me Red Hot Chili Peppers were bigger than Duran Duran in 1984?

Is this ai slop

How come Metallica or GNR are there but not Iron Maiden? Both - Metallica and GNR - used to be Support Bands for Maiden in the 80s
