Hashima Island, Japan. In 1959, the 16-acre island's population reached its peak of 5,259, with a population density of 83,500 people/km2 or 216,264 people per square mile for the whole island. The Island is now abandoned and it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Salsette Island is actually Mumbai.

Japan always blows me away when I see pictures of it. The density of Tokyo for example is insane, however, they say it is one of the cleanest in the world too.
