Dumb idea, make a small vent hole.

Dont do this. Unless it's end of days I guess. Most modern cans have a polymer lining to prevent a metallic taste, and at the heat of a fire, it will leach into your food. Plus if you bubble or Crack the can from the heat, you now have metals in the food as well. It it cold or carry a small cast iron or stainless pan

Always vent the can, this is the 1st bad advice I have ever heard from this guy. I once met a man with one testicle from a can exploding when he picked it up with a wet glove.

Brilliant, you’ll know it’s ready when it explodes in your face

Why wouldn’t you vent it?

The contents of the can are already cooked. You’re just reheating it. “Pressure” cooking it provides zero benefit. This is just a good way to go to the ER. Heating in the can is dumb. Theres a liner inside the can

DON'T DO THIS! Cans are lined with plastics made of harmful chemicals! Just fashion a cooking pot or just eat it cold! Either way, you are more of a man and you don't STUPIDLY run the risk of turning a can of soup into a lava grenade

We set a 1 gallon can of beans in the coals of the fire at a 4 wheel drive event. Then forgot about it. Yep, we forgot to poke a hole in the can too. About 1AM the can finally exploded. Beans on the Chevy, beans on the jeep, beans everywhere. Luckily nobody was seated nearby when it happened.

Bro you are in the middle of nowhere. The thing you have abundant is time. You can afford to wait 10 minutes or lose your face. It’s simple math.

@grok How long does it take for this can to become a napalm bomb, and what happens to the coating on the inside of the can when high heat is applied?

cans are lined with funky shit (BPA-IN) to keep the food from contacting the metal "U.S. food can production now uses BPA-non-intent (BPA-NI) alternatives such as acrylics, polyesters, non-BPA epoxies, or olefin polymers" but that shit still cools off into the food

you do not use cans, that have in inside layer of plastic...thats retardet, you are burning and eating burned plastic then, so you can eat your food directly from a plastic bag. What a stupid thing, you have at least a cooking pot-like container you mostly cook soups
