Department of Housing Secretary Scott Turner says American needs to get back to our founding principles “To pray together, to pray for each other, and to pray for our nation — This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. And we have a president now that understands not only the power of prayer, but the importance of people in America praying and giving back to our foundation. And so I'm honored to just be a part of it, that every single week that you can get together with 10 people, and pray together. Think about it. We have a million people a week praying for our country. Mountains move when the people of God pray. You know, there's a scripture in the Bible and it says, God can bring the high places low and make the rough places smooth and that he delights in the prayer of his people. And so I believe that as Americans under President Trump's leadership, that as we pray together, that we'll see families come back together. We'll see people that are hurting and lost to come to a true knowledge of Jesus Christ. We'll see sons return to their fathers, daughters return to their mothers. We'll see people who have been fighting and combating in chaos come back together in like-mindedness. We can all chip in: - Support that single mama in your community with an extra meal or offer to babysit for a few hours - If you're blessed to be an employer, flexible work from home schedules if possible and generous family leave - I've seen many families move or make very intentional lifestyle sacrifices in order to empower the mama to be with babies instead of dropping them off at a daycare - Pursue side gigs, jobs and careers that are as mama-friendly as possible There is no single solution, but we can all find ways to support mothers and fathers and lead in ways that promote FAMILY - the care and nurture of children - always over financial gain or material things "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

I became a mother at very early twenties. #POSTDELETE I was young, unsure about my life , and scared about the battles I was fighting within me….but from the moment I held my daughter, I knew my life had changed forever. I didn’t just become a mom… I became a fighter, a protector, a provider, a comforter all at once. People love to talk about single moms like we’re broken or burdensome. But what they don’t see is the courage it takes to wake up every day and be everything to a child, when the world gives you very little in return. We carry judgment in our wombs and strength in our hands. We build homes from empty spaces. We raise kings and queens with little more than prayer and persistence. So when I see posts mocking single mothers or discouraging love for women like me, I smile because I know what it means to love beyond your limits, to sacrifice without applause, to hope again after heartbreak. We are not less. We are not desperate. We are not mistakes. We are warriors in plain clothes. Our children are blessings, not baggage. #ForEverySingleMom #StrengthInScars #LoveLivesHere #ThisIsMyTestimony

This morning I was just walking my son to school like any other day. A woman stopped me. I know her face. She called me by my nickname. She was shaking. Cold. Tired. Not the normal tired the kind that tells you life has been pushing someone for too long. She told me her children slept hungry. She had walked almost an hour just to reach me. I didn’t even think much. I just dropped my son at school and went with her. When I got there… it was bad. No food. Children just there. Waiting. Quiet. That kind of quiet that hurts. We went and got milk and mandazi. Small thing. But those children ate like it was a gift from heaven. She hugged me. And I just stood there thinking… this is Kenya right now. Not the Kenya we hear in speeches. The real Kenya is mothers going to bed praying children sleep without crying from hunger. Fathers turning into problem-solvers every morning with empty pockets. Children missing school because there is no lunch, no fare, no hope for that day. Sick people choosing prayer because hospital bills are too heavy. It is happening quietly everywhere. In estates. In villages. In towns. People are surviving, not living. We need God in this country. Seriously. Because things are tight. Too tight. And we also need to start seeing each other. Even if you don’t have money, don’t ignore people. Talk to them. Encourage them. Hug them. Let them feel human again. Sometimes that is all someone has left. Lord have mercy on Kenya.
