My team and I have been working furiously for the last few months to establish the foundations of a political party which is capable of saving our United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 🇬🇧. I am delighted to launch that party today: Advance UK. The party will stand for the entire country in all its parts and for all its people. We will fight for nation, freedom of speech, democracy and equality before the law. We will not flinch. We will not pander to false narratives designed to damage our country. I emphasized the urgent need to rebuild our party on the foundation of unity, fairness, and respect for grassroots leadership. I also reaffirmed my decision to contest in the upcoming primaries and shared my deep concern about the unfair treatment all MMDCEs faced under the previous administration. Excessive centralization in Accra undermined local governance, stripped MMDCEs of real power, and stalled development in our communities. I assured them, under my leadership, that will change. It’s time to restore dignity to public service and give real power back to the people on the ground. Together, we will rebuild and rise.

And then members of the General Assembly obliged without any public buy in. And certainly, I think you know, what we — what we know to be true here in Virginia is, you know, we are pleased that this referendum passed, but even for people like me, I supported it vocally, campaigned for it, but I want us to return as is prescribed in our legislation. I want us to return to our bipartisan redistricting commission after the 2030 census. And so, I think returning to whether it's commissions like we have in Virginia or other good governance and redistricting priorities, frankly, I'd love to see Congress take that up as a priority to ensure that there is bipartisan or nonpartisan — different Bstates have different options that there's community input in, in the redistricting process. The office I inherited saw Virginia with a murder rate at a — at a 20-year high, and the highest levels of addiction deaths ever recorded in the history of Virginia. And I made several promises to you. I said I was going to work with law enforcement instead of against law enforcement, which we did, launching Operation Bold Blue Line with Governor Youngkin put more cops on our streets. I promised that we would prosecute repeat violent offenders, which we have by launching Operation Ceasefire, because we were saying that 5% of felons were committing over 50% of her violent felonies. The result, a dramatic reduction in our murder rate and in our ceasefire cities, reductions of murder as high as 60%. I promised you, Virginia, we were going to go after our fentanyl dealers that were poisoning our kids, and we have. My office alone has prosecuted and removed enough fentanyl off our streets that would have taken the lives of 7 million Virginians. I said we're going to deal with the addiction crisis headlong, and we did. Watching one pill can kill to educate our children on the dangers of illicit drugs, but also going after the big pharmaceutical companies, suing them and recovering close to $1.5 billion in recoveries. That money goes to addiction treatment to get people back on their feet. We're incredibly proud of the work that we've done because more Virginians are alive today, more Virginians are safer today because the incredible work we've done in the Attorney General's office.”

I said I was going to work with law enforcement instead of against law enforcement, which we did, launching Operation Bold Blue Line with Governor Youngkin put more cops on our streets. I promised that we would prosecute repeat violent offenders, which we have by launching Operation Ceasefire, because we were saying that 5% of felons were committing over 50% of her violent felonies. The result, a dramatic reduction in our murder rate and in our ceasefire cities, reductions of murder as high as 60%. I promised you, Virginia, we were going to go after our fentanyl dealers that were poisoning our kids, and we have. My office alone has prosecuted and removed enough fentanyl off our streets that would have taken the lives of 7 million Virginians. I said we're going to deal with the addiction crisis headlong, and we did. Watching one pill can kill to educate our children on the dangers of illicit drugs, but also going after the big pharmaceutical companies, suing them and recovering close to $1.5 billion in recoveries. That money goes to addiction treatment to get people back on their feet. We're incredibly proud of the work that we've done because more Virginians are alive today, more Virginians are safer today because the incredible work we've done in the Attorney General's office.”
