The Government has specifically listed strengthened counter-insurgency grids, strategic checkpoints, intensified CASO operations, real-time intelligence sharing and day-and-night area domination among its counter-terror measures. ●》AND THE BIGGER PICTURE IS IN THE NUMBERS 2018 → 2025 🔻 Terrorist-initiated incidents: 228 → 12 🔻 Civilian deaths: 55 → 28 🔻 Security-force fatalities: 91 → 16 And the longer-term picture is even more significant: 7,217 terrorist incidents during 2004–2014 compared with 2,242 during 2014–2024. Stone-pelting, which averaged thousands of incidents annually in the earlier period, has also fallen to near-zero in recent years, according to Government of India data. This does not mean terrorism has disappeared. Majalta proves the opposite. The threat remains.
