People went full circle on this one (disliked, loved, cult classic, overrated, disliked), but it's legit a solid shooter. Some good stage design. Highest difficulty has some dumb moments like the heli chase but otherwise great title.

Replayed this earlier this year and it still holds up gameplay wise Wouldn't mind a remaster or remake tho

This is one of the few games that made me sick at some points because you never really get to see the consequences of your actions in a shooter. The combat was solid and the games motivates you to keep going but it sticks with you after you beat it. We need a remaster.

It truly plays like any generic shooter at the time, which is the point. The cult classic status is gained from its unique plot and boldness.

We had an entire unit in high-school about how fucked this game was and how an official ending to the game (designed by the producers) was to litteraly just turn it off. And not have to make the choices of murdering civilians and shit like that. Crazy stuff.

I highly recommend to play the game on one of the hardest difficulties (but on your second playthrough). There are some special death screens where you normally would never die, but those last two difficulties just grantees you'll die a lot. Those death screens worth it
