I do these for bellworks to hook kids into the lesson every day and get them curious about if their guess was right or not. When students know what they’re trying to learn and understand, they’re more likely to be successful. But just writing learning targets does almost nothing. Use predictions instead.”

The report card from Harrisburg is in and the results are alarming. Just 12% of Harrisburg High School students are proficient in reading. Only 2% are proficient in math. And science proficiency is just 3%. Our students deserve better. It’s time for Pennsylvania to opt-in to the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit and give families real options at getting a quality education.
