But I have never seen the people tease, taunt, jeer & mock the opposition leaders, members of the party and an Ex CM as much as the people of West Bengal did to Mamta Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee and each and every karyakarta, politician, or MP/MLA of the TMC party. From making memes, dancing on bridges and in pubs, mocking them in front of their houses, making a playlist of File Chor, Pishi chor Vaipo Chor type of songs, cat calling Mamta Banerjee in the Supreme Court,to spitting on Abhishek Banerjee.... they did all to their hearts content and are still dancing and celebrating. This is what happens....when you intimidate and torture people into silence and submission for years. I can predict that after this freedom and new found valour, if Mahua Moitra goes asking for votes in the Lok Sabha elections, every MP candidate of the TMC including her, will get what she most likes to advertise.......Eggs !!

Today during a street corner meeting at Ekbalpore, Hussain Park, goons linked to TMC and Firhad Hakim abused BJP karyakartas and created disruption. When we protested, the Ekbalpore OC threatened to kill me and my karyakartas. Not only that, an open lathi-charge was carried out on me, my karyakartas, and even my daughter. All this happened under DC Port, and the entire incident is recorded on my Facebook Live. This is TMC’s panic out of fear of defeat a lamp burns brightest before it goes out. Seeing growing public support, TMC has resorted to violence, but we will not be intimidated. The people of Kolkata Port will give a fitting reply. I urge the Home Ministry to intervene and ensure strict punishment for the culprits. Madan Mitra, a TMC leader and close aide of Mamata Banerjee, known for his rather colourful lifestyle, has now openly insulted Bhagwan Ram and called Him a Muslim. He has even asked, “What is the surname of Lord Ram?” Earlier, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim called being born a Hindu “unfortunate” and expressed his wish for Urdu to become the dominant language in West Bengal, while on the other hand, TMC leader Humayun Kabir is building a Babri Masjid. The TMC has always appeased Muslims and reduced Bengali Hindus to second-grade citizens. In West Bengal, they have deliberately played shameless vote-bank politics to secure Muslim votes. They have been doing this for over a decade now. Imam Bhata and the increase in the Minority Affairs budget by “leaps and bounds” have been an open secret in West Bengal. But despite all this political favouritism, Mamata Banerjee can feel her vote bank slowly slipping away. So instead of wearing the hijab and reading the kalma openly in front of her Muslim vote bank, she has outsourced that role to her trusted party leaders. Mamata Banerjee is yet to arrest these leaders for making repeated anti-Hindu statements in public. She does not even condemn such statements. It has come to our knowledge that a person named Mojarul; who is a Personnel of the Kolkata Police, hailing from Nandigram, is unauthorizedly handling Voter Lists and actively summoning Police Personnel to the SDO Office in Haldia to cast their votes. He is reportedly instructing them to bring their Departmental I-Cards and Voter IDs for this purpose. This is a violation and illegal Interference. A Serving Police Personnel has no authority to manage voter lists or "coordinate" the voting process of other personnel in this manner. This is a clear attempt to interfere with the Postal Ballot process, potentially compromising the neutrality and secrecy of the vote for Uniformed Personnel. The involvement of a KP personnel in such activity at the Haldia SDO Office raises serious questions about the Jurisdictional Breach and influence being exerted on the ground. I urge the Election Commission of India & CEO West Bengal to take immediate cognizance of this blatant violation, investigate the role of Mojarul and under whose authority he is operating. ECI also must ensure that the Postal Ballot process remains free from the influence of middlemen or partisan elements within the Police Force.

From threatening ordinary citizens on the streets to intimidating government officials - the tone, arrogance and sheer recklessness of Agnimitra Paul BJP are APPALLING. What exactly do you mean when you say that you will transfer an officer to the Sundarbans immediately after calling him “incapable”? Do the people of the Sundarbans deserve officers who are deemed incapable? And WHY IS A TRANSFER BEING USED AS A THREAT, in the first place? Is this really how a minister is expected to conduct herself? The hollering, heckling and abuse of newly acquired power are deeply troubling. Public office is meant to come with responsibility and accountability, not a licence to intimidate people. Surely there can be better ways to address such issues!
