Motorists have been advised to ignore any instant fines notifications from NTSA. In a petition filed at the Milimani High Court by Sheria Mtaani , lawyers argue that the motorists have the moral, civil and legal obligations to refuse to pay the fines. Justice Bahati Mwamuye on Thursday, March 12, 2026, granted conservatory orders suspending the rollout of the system. Fifty police chiefs from across the UK and Northern Ireland have warned that if two of the people convicted of killing PC Andrew Harper are released early, it could 'undermine police morale and public trust in the justice system'. The Prime Minister has said that he recognised the 'depth of public concern', and the government is now looking for other ways to free up prison spaces.
