This draconian legislation seeks to roll back the constitutional promise of dignity, equality and self-identification affirmed by the Supreme Court in the landmark NALSA judgment. Instead of expanding rights and protections, it introduces intrusive frameworks that risk further marginalising an already vulnerable community. Trans persons deserve affirmation, social security, access to education, healthcare and employment, and not surveillance or bureaucratic control over identity.
