1. MRP = Maximum retail price which is determined by the company / producer only 2. The seller can sell for anything less than that. Why is this a problem ?

Mrp is much needed or else most selfish indians will suck the blood out of human body... By the way same chips on highways have different mrp then in cities...

MRP is designed with the poor in mind. If there is no MRP the retail store owner in areas where competition is low will start charging any price and the poor will not have any recourse to contest it. It’s another matter that big vendors have recently started printing higher rates

MRP is good, there is no ethics in India, baniya will literally loot people if there is no MRP. The reason real estate is a big bubble is that there is no control of the government.

India is not a developed country. MRP is absolutely essential! How are you planning on calculating tax on each item by the way? You want to put that onus on the shopkeepers?

Mrp is much needed in a country like India....we have to realise our country is not a first world nation I have seen ppl in the west hop from one shop to another to get things for 1 dollar cheaper

I can agree with other things... but MRP is actually a good thing. for those who do not support it they r stupid because they indirectly support bad capitalism trying to f*** public for money

MRP is a problem for seller not for consumers. The govt won't abolish it simply just because some sellers are less profitable. The manufacturer does not care as he has full control on pricing the product to compete with his competitors.

MRP is fine until it's your family member in a hospital at midnight wher a syringe costs 20x more 😂😂😂😂 you can roam whole city with your patient for lower prices.

many poor won't get anything... it can backfire. I remember my social sciences teacher saying that its possible to bargain on MRP but no one does it.

MRP is a necessity in a low-trust society like India. A Mahindra dealer sold an accident vehicle as a new vehicle.

So u mean ppl can dynamically change the price as per demand and supply crunch. When u r in a remote area and only shop have bottles water. They will sell u for 500 , same person will cry what govt. is doing.

Indians want to live like a developed world but India doesn't have one political party that supports capitalism. And Indians never vote for capitalism. So just leave the country if you want to live or as Trump said India is hellhole

Idiot!! India is not like developed country. People are looking for opportunities to scam others. See what happens in cities where autos dont ply by meter.

Problem in India is that if people get success in one field they start thinking they can talk about everything. Worse people fall for it. Its a pattern.

Question is not that MRP is required or not, my biggest question is how this guy became rich with this little knowledge and importance of MRP in Indian economy. Example from PVR shows he never came out from his AC eco system.

Will you 10 times the price for a bottle of water, just because it is late night after all other shops are closed? Will you pay ₹10k for a dolo just because it is the only shop open on a holiday? what about 5 times the price for a quarter on gandhi jayanti?

for less than MRP you can sell for whatever price you want. MRP is set to ensure consumers dont get fleeced. Due to MRP a person in north east is able buy for the same price that person in other parts of India pays in-spite of supply chain costs.
