Ms. Love is making Sledge shut down into "I don't recall" mode

The state is up for re-direct, currently trying to challenge the defense's position that Mounk Tounk's plea was under pressure.

Weinstein also attempted to build the foundation for this clip from yesterday (Tyreek Hill saying SLATT and wiping his nose) but Mounk Tounk didn't watch the Dolphins game or recognize the clip.

The defense finished their cross-examination of Mounk Tounk. Doug Weinstein was demonstrating the point that Mounk Tounk would have signed anything to get out of jail at that point in time and began asking "if you were asked if YSL killed Tupac" , which was met with objections

Young Thug Trial: Day 125 Day 4 of Mounk Tounk, a witness that the state said would take 3 hours. Should be able to finish with him today.

Ms. Love is asking questions like "did your memory come back when your friend's attorney was questioning you?" When she originally got an objection to using the word "your friend" she asked him, again, if he loves Mr. Stillwell and Williams (he answered yes).

"Ms. Love, I've been answering questions for 4 days and I don't know how many hours, so, I don't recall" Yep Mounk Tounk is in complete I don't recall mode.

"I just don't recall, Ms. Love, I aint trying to give you a hard time. But it looks like you're trying to give me a hard time." Ms. Love tries to imply that he could recall when he signed his plea deal because the defense (or defendants?) weren't in the room.

Sledge explains why he never went into "I don't recall" mode with the defense. "I'm giving you my truth and you're still trying to pressure me to give you something that YOU want me to say" Judge breaks for an early lunch to give time for Sledge to re-collect himself.

Last week, Steel asked Sledge about a meeting he had with the state where Ms Love told Sledge not to tell the jury a certain fact about Thug. Love is bringing it back up to dispute it, but it’s kind of backfiring? She’s still driving at this point.

Tounk: “If Mr. Steel said you said lnot to say it to the jury”, I made a mistake and should have corrected him, but that’s the way I took your words”

Imo, this is the worst job Ms Love has done with any of the 90 witnesses called so far in this case. She’s completely lost the witness. Here, she’s laughing while asking him about how his dying mother made him feel like he was in a hard place when agreeing to his plea.

Mounk Tounk has made it clear to the jury a million times that, even though he agreed to those statements, he doesn’t feel like they were accurate and didn’t feel like he had the power to change them. The state wants to show the jury he could have changed them.

Love asks Mounk Tounk if he wiped his nose at the jury. He says she’s going too far and looks to the Judge for help. “You’re silly, I swear you’re being silly”

Mounk Tounk testifies he felt like if he tried to correct any of the statements in his plea that were incorrect , the state would take his deal away. Ms Love is (unknowingly?) letting Sledge show the jury exactly how these defendants get railroaded by them.

Ms Love is done. No one on defense has any further questions. On his way out, Mounk Tounk apologizes to Ms Love and the jury “for getting upset”. Next witness is Mounk Tounks lawyer Derek Wright

Wright is testifying about the meeting with his client and the state. He says he relayed some information that Sledge provided to the defense attorneys to make sure it was “fair to both sides”. He says there’s no “big secret” and both sides were completely professional.

Realistically, this witness is intended to clear Loves name from instructing Sledge not to testify about specific stuff, and not really relevant to the overall case. He says his client insists that’s what he heard, and he thinks Sledge is being truthful, but he himself didn’t hear it and “i’m not gonna juice it up for either the state or the defense”. He did remark that Ms Love seemed not to like certain topics.

For how far left this is going with no defense objection, I have no choice but to believe they’re letting it happen for a reason . Maybe opening the door for something they want to ask about . Or maybe Steel is just getting dragged into this pissing match with Love . We’ll see.

the defense says they should have been given these emails of Sledge denying stuff that ultimately ended up in the plea agreement Judge says these emails don’t directly contradict the plea statements and aren’t brady

Steel chimes in. He doesn’t think it’s a brady VIOLATION since they got it, but still thinks the state isn’t fulfilling their obligation and they should have had it before crossing Mr. Sledge The Judge doesn’t see it the same way and says “they could have just asked sledge” so they’re equally available.

doug weinstein asks if there’s any other similar emails for any of the other codefendants who took pleas. judge asks Love to check what exists and get back to her if she’s against sending it, so the judge can do an “in camera inspection” and decide if it needs to be provided

back tomorrow with derek wright. then a lieutenant who was also present for that sledge meeting ( 🥱) then a witness who, according to the state, is trying to avoid to take the stand… yet another uncooperative state witness on the way!! :-)

It feels like Love cares more about rehabilitating her reputation than saving the state's case at this point. Her questions just don't make any sense if they are designed to advance the case (they don't).

She still doesn’t understand that if she would just be nice… she would get a different response from her witnesses…
